    OK Winebox...The whips out.:D

You dont really need to go out just to get alcohol. And you must think about saving the planet.:D
Leave your car where it is and dont use it for unnecessary trips.:naughty:

Think how proud you will be in the morning when you wake up unhungovered and with two days AF under your belt.
Come on girl ....you CAN do this.
    See you later

    I'll be watching you

I'm mostly a lurker these days, but I have to say 'good going' to everyone giving the alcohol-free challenge a go. I've given up my two-three drinks a night for Lent and feel ... normal. (I also gave up caffeine, fizzy drinks, chocolate, sweets and Facebook. 8) ) It's nice waking up in the morning without a hangover or feeling fuzzy - just tired.

Booze was becoming a treatment instead of a treat, and I was fed up. Lent was as good an excuse as any. (Next excuse day = St George's Day? :) ) Instead of drinking into the evening, I've been waking up earlier and going for a run every other day, and on the other day I do an abs workout with pressups. (I should also mention that I cycle to work and back 4-5 days a week.)

I've lost about a pound a week and people are starting to notice already. And my wife has been drinking less too ... our glass recycling has been virtually nil! We had to pour a half-drunk bottle of wine that had been sitting around down the drain. Our shopping has gone down £5-10/week. All good.

Definitely a good way to cut down on expenses, cut some weight and get more done. Good for you and congrats!

I fell of the wagon again this past weekend, But I felt so !!!!!! on Saturday morning I have put myself of drink, I don't know but as you get older it gets more difficult to cope with a hangover, its simply not worth the trouble

i agree Nirelandguy - I just don't cope so well with the after effects of alcohol either and I think it's an age thing. your body telling you to slow down and look after it!

phew crisis averted - have had dinner now (early!!) - never drink on a full stomach (& boy is it full....), Holby City had better be good tonight as I will be watching it to the end for once. I won't claim my AFD2 JUST yet, but pretty sure will be in here doing so tomorrow.
I might have tannin poisoning though.........
Hope everyone has a good evening. I feel like saying if I can do it anyone can (yeah, 2 whole days wb...) but part of the problem is each of us being in a different place mentally every day.
P.S. Budgie - it made me laugh when at the end of your 2-foot-long post you said "sorry if I missed anybody", I think you named half the people in the entire forums!!
    P.P.S..more tea....

And Bismark, how do you mean about your philosophy changing - is that just due to being a non-drinker?

no, it's the process that helps me stay there. it's me that is choosing to not drink and I've worked on myself to understand what makes me tick, and in so doing, I've developed far greater awareness of others.....also, I've stopped being a selfish twit sometimes when there have been situations where a "merry" me would have done something provocative/hostile or just plain unhelpful...when you think about the impact of your actions on those around you , it really does give you strength if you need it. MAybe the kids will never know the changes I went through but they've been made and I think so much for the better.

    take care everyone
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

    CONGRATULATIONS MollyP - fantastic achievement

Happy birthday Jo - know what you mean about the run up to 40 (I'm in denial until I pass a mirror and then it's 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!' as reality hits!).

HS - 3 AF days for me please.

    Constant vigilance...

    xx
