Hi all- happy birthday for yesterday budgie, hope you had a great day with DS, and a big congratulations to molly for her incredible achievement- and even after all this time you still keep an eye on this thread and share your kind thoughts and wise words- thank you so much .

Nial- welcome to the thread, you must be feeling very anxious and frightened for her. I agree with GC, only the drinker has control over the amount they drink, noone can give up for you. Sounds like she needs a proper supervised detox with lots of follow up counselling and some self help trips to AA as this helped before- when you are gripped and consumed by alcohol everyday its so hard to think clearly enough to make those decisions, and when you are physically dependant even if you can get yourself motivated the physical withdrawal keeps you heading for the bottle. I hope she cracks this and you get all the support to make it happen. Thinking of you- keep posting.

Jo, I am very proud of you especially this month- could be the month when you flicked the switch? I really hope so, I know how much it means to you.

Hope everyone is OK tonight- catch you all tommorrow (except for when the grand prix is on)

Oh forgot to say I spent £52 in H and B today!!! Kudzu, vit b complex, vit c, multivits, milk thistle, some homepathic salt thing for depression, and teatree oil as the nits are back in our house!!! Anyone got any ideas how you can get this stuff in a more natural way? I hate the idea of taking all these pills and potions?

    Thanks

Thanks Niall! Will try anything to get rid of the dreaded nits- we seem to have super nits in cornwall, can't get rid of the bloody things for more than a week. Re: milk thistle, apparently it supports your liver function, and helps get rid of toxins, a couple of people on here say they have taken it for ages and it can help drinkers- I'm up for anything that might help. Hope you are OK- I think that watchful waiting over a drinker in crisis must be so distressing, I remember how unpredictable and reckless I was, upsetting people and saying horrible and/or weird things, it was dreadful for my family, and to be honest in the end people just got fed up of me and left me alone to get on with it. Your OH is lucky you have stuck around when so many people would have given up and shipped out.

Hope everyone is OK today, catch you later.

Can I jump on board here??

Since Xmas I have been getting to carried away with the old drinking, Well I say carried away half a dozen tins of larger every Sat night but still I want of it. I went off alcohol for a year and I don't know how I done it, It just seems such a hard thing to do now, once Sat comes I start getting the taste for it again :(
