    Mollypolly,

Well done you for getting this far and the biggest congratulations on your one year anniversary! :happylove Have a great time away if you aren't back on here again before then

You are right about the support on here, it has helped me change my thinking more than I would ever have imagined for a virtual world. I think more carefully about what I drink now more than before when I was drinking more often. Plus I am almost at the point now where I can imagine having an AF week becuase I want to!

    Good Morning all

Happy Birthday BB hope you have a great day :D

Upsy Daisy we lived above our pubs up until about 6 years ago until we had our 2 youngest, we were the original 'party animals' working, socialising and drinking till the early hours most nights.Had to calm down though and get our own place when the little ones came along :D We carried on running pubs until September last year when they finally dragged us under and we went Bankrupt. Very glad to be out the trade to be honest. We are no longer party animals....more pipe and slippers people now
When I look back my drinking habits have reduced greatly over the years....very rarely go 'on benders' any more and no longer drink myself into a stupor every night...then have to wake up a couple of hours later for brewery deliveries etc....yuk dont know how I managed that!
Yet still I love my red wine and having a couple of glasses each night.....I can control the amount I drink quite easily,I know my limits and very rarely 'just carry on' drinking for the sake of it like I used to.I could drink more each night quite happily but know i'd be rubbish the next day if I did. A friday is treat night for me as OH gets up with kids on a saturday so I usually have a bit more and a saturday we often have people round so a bit more then too!I know i am way above the recommended limit for a woman so could just do with more AFD in the week......thats the plan anyway :D

If you can control it, then this shouldn't be a problem.
If you find it difficult, then maybe you are not in control to the magnitude you profess.

I can control the amount I drink- I stop at my 2 glasses of wine each week night. I do allow more on certain nights as stated. When I was younger and child free I had no limits and would always be the one who wanted to carry on long after everybody else had had enough. The same when we lived/worked the pubs - I was quite happy to drink throughout the night and survive on hardly any sleep or food for that matter.
I like to think I look after myself a lot better these days, I eat healthily, get plenty of sleep and try not to overdo the alcohol too much. I know if I let myself I could go back to drinking a lot more but I wont because my lifestyle is very different to what it once was.I have children for a start who need their mummy to be compos mentis each day.
My problem seems to be having completely AFD. Each night I look forward to relaxing with a couple of glasses of wine, I rarely drink anything different than wine and would not replace it with anything else e.g spirits/beer if I had no wine. I have my 'no wine' sunday rule but think maybe I should have at least another night or two off just to keep my units at a safe level.

I was drinking wine every night too stroppy and struggled to have even 1 AFD  Then I joined in this thread and it motivated me - I also discovered kudzu which I am finding an enormous help. I am now managing not to drink Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs at all and not craving it one little bit like I used to do :D
I am drinking at weekends, but even then much less than I was and am now having within the recommended alcohol units per week for the first time in years :j :D

Lots of luck to you I am sure you can do it xx

Well you're stronger than me then :T :T - my problem is that I can't stop until there is none left in the bottle, which is why I have to have a couple of AFD's every week.

I'm off to see if H and B is open still to get some kudos

Hi everyone, my night out is off due to my poorly old Mr Dog, can't leave him really.

Anyway looks like another AFD for me tonight as not opening a bottle of wine just for me. Means I should be at 21 AFD by the end of the night :j :j

Maybe Mr Dog is poorly by some kind of karmic coincidence to keep me AF and on target for 24 days, that's how I'm looking at it as he might not have long left
