Captain Lurkio, thanks for the avatar advice, now you can all see the igloo I built
I was so pleased with myself and very disappointed not to be able to show you a picture.
NTC - count me in for March. I wasn't planning to set a target this month, but I may reevaluate at some point. We will see.
Jo - :T :T :T Well done. Sounds like you are in the zone. GOFRIT.
TRC
TRC, now that is one impressive igloo!! Well done! Was it cold inside, don't they say that igloos are warm (though that might be in the antartic where they shielded from the wind
If you wanna put big photos up on the threads, join photobucket (it's free!) and upload your photos on to there. Once you've uploaded your pictures you copy the 'IMG Code' on photobucket and paste it in your message here and then you can do this....DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

WB - 23 for me please!
Todays a bit of a strange day. My brother, who I have spoken about before on here, turns 40 today. We haven't seen him for over a year, don't know where he's living but I'm assuming he's still drinking. My first thought this morning was that I was surprised he'd made it to 40. Horrible I know, but hearing his doctor say over a year ago that if he continued drinking he WOULD die, it makes me wonder every day how much longer he has. Still I suppose the old adage, no news is good news, is true in this case.
So I'm quite glad I can't drink at the moment. I would have hated to get despondant later, have a drink and then sit wondering if I'm cut from the same cloth.
On a cheerful note, little one goes to nursery at 1 today (:D ) and then I'm meeting an old friend for lunch. Have to go for a blood test up the hospital about 3 and she knows I hate needles so offered me lunch beforehand to take my mind off of it!. Thank god for friends!
Nearly the end of february! Keep going everyone!!

I've decided to climb back on this wagon now for lent and had an AFD yesterday (at last!! Not many others so far this year.) Odd start as like Jo recently posted I felt very listless and aimless even in the afternoon before my usual danger time. Got out for a walk which helped and then into the bath. Day 1 completed successfully.
My first test is going to be this Friday night. Party Saturday night but I'm planning to drive. Glad to see how well everyone is doing on here. I will try and catch up with more than the last couple of pages soon - it moves really quickly now on here.0 -

Why not try the link to the alcohol free site Eselt gave yesterday, some yummy looking stuff on there!
Hi Jo & well done! Yes the link looks good, it's just that I want something "for the weekend" so no time to order online. Generally I don't believe in alch free lager / wine products cos I think it perpetuates the mystique of drinking - better to go for a different taste altogether. I want some to (possibly) hide from OH the fact I'm not drinking, which is ironic considering how often I've smuggled empty bottles home after a weekend so he doesn't see how many I've got through! This isn't a long-term plan....it's just he's so obviously worried about the prospect of me sober for an entire evening that I might try & do it then tell him the next morning. It'll be easy....I just have to remember to talk too much for a couple of hours, then find something to sulk about, then burst into tears over nothing, then fall asleep on the sofa. Sorted!
I had an AFD yesterday yay! Pleased cos had to go & sort stuff re Dad's estate etc with solicitor which was predictably stressy but knew if I gave in that's the Lent thing done for.
Despite possibly my worst night's sleep EVER last night - oh those dreams - I feel pretty chipper today. Amazing what just one day off can do, though it may well catch up with me later. Will update scores shortly!0 -
I had a feeling as I submitted the above I wasn't being original....
"jocose, verbose, bellicose, lachrymose, comatose" - the 5 stages of intoxication. I forgot the first one but then again my jokes are rubbish0 -
