Please would you stick me down next month for.....wait for it....31/31 please
MP, how long did it take for your sleep patterns to get back to normal. Another thing I meant to ask you (if you don't mind and if you do ignore...), what were your drinking patterns like, were you an everyday drinker or just every know and again?
Well done on setting your target Jo......You sound so positive near this IS the time you will give up for good.I think you are like me....all or nothing so go for it girl. You are quite lucky in the fact that your OH doesnt drink to often so there is ne need for alcohol to be in the house. My DH still drinks every night:mad:
I dont think it took too long for my sleeping to get back into a 'normal routine'Maybe a week or two but now it is great not to wake up at 4am and then spend the rest of the time till morning worrying about my debts.......I still have my debts but am more able to cope with them now.
I think I am much calmer as a person now and even when DH drinks too much and tries to pick a fight I just smile sweetly;) .I will not be drawn...
As to how much I drank....nearly all day every day:D well not quite ALL day but at least a bottle of wine every day with several brandys or whiskys to follow as a nightcap.(Scary when I think about it now)
I just love to wake up unhungovered and never want to go back to that again.
Good Luck...This IS your time.
Love Mollypollyxxxx
PS.Please stop talking of chocolate or I may have to ruin my NS day!!!!!:happylove :happylove

Personally, I am going to try hard in March to only drink at weekends and not at all Mon - Thurs - that's what I want to achieve, but am finding it so hard
Mine is pure habit - I start cooking the evening meal and pour my first glass of wine. It's pure habit - I don't 'need' it anymore as a crutch [I used to during a very stressful time] and only feel I 'need' it when I start to cook, and then have another glass with the meal I have cut down which is great, but going without a couple of glasses of wine every evening is harder than I ever thought it would be!!!
Well done to those of you who are managing it :T :T
There can be a fine line between habit and addiction.
Smoking for most people is an addiction.
Drinking for most people is a habit that they can break
If you cannot break your drinking habit, that MAY suggest an addiction0 -
We couldn't wait for pancake day and so had one yesterday! Still having some tonight though. Orange and sugar is our favourite - yum! Although I have tried syrup too and this is nice!:D0

Hello all of you
I just wanted to say again, WELL DONE for all your efforts and honesty - you can be whatever you want to be - keep believing that and you'll get there, even if there are a few "blips" along the way.0 -
I can go without drinking if I am away from my normal routine/environment
I don't plan on giving up just want to cut down - so - I have not had any AF days this year yet [I did last year, and the year before stopped drinking altogether for 2 months, but was away from home and started again when I came home!!] so will not push myself too hard in March so I am going to aim at a minimum of 8 AF days in March as a first go, then increase it the next month.
Does that sound reasonable for a first attempt?? I aim at only drinking at weekends ultimately
You have permission to slap me if I fail :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
