It's been a very busy weekend so I will have to catch up with the thread later in the week
Winebox - just signing in to update my score (well actually not update it....it is still 8 day AF)
Need 4/6 from now-on-in to hit my target
Bye for now.

Hey MP, nice to see you back.
I always look at your AF Date and think to myself ''well done you!''
It's the years of in built training we gave ourselves that make us think about celebrating with a drink. Making it an OJ or Dandelion and Burdock doesn't mean any less at all. Looking at how everyone else is when drunk and off their heads doesn't make you envious of them. short lived as these feelings are of drugs - be proud of what you have achieved. You are not weird or ridiculous for not drinking despite what others may think.
You're a great inspiration on this thread for what we can all achieve if we want to even if we take little tiny steps towards itfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Thanks Fedupandskint
I am proud of what I am doing and know deep down I will only celebrate with Alcohol free wine.
I darn't take the tiny step to one drink because I know where it would lead and I never want to go back there.
Thanks for your support....and well done to you.You are doing really well with this challenge.
Take care

Just watched Alien V Predator and stayed awake!! Though probably not a good film to watching considering I'm AF and gonna have vivid dreams tonight
MP, thanksyour AF birthday is on my actual birthday so instead of having a beer or two for turning another year older I might join you in an AF one
A question for those in the know, i.e. Bis, GC, Eselt, RA et al.... I know I need to do 'one day at a time' and the bigger picture is a scary place to think about but I'm thinking that I need to prepare long term and be aware that I need to be AF forever, I need to stop that complacency tripping me up. In your opinions, should I think of tomorrow and beyond or stick to today?
Speak to you all tomorrow

Something you said in an earlier post about having one can and panicking when to open it, that [STRIKE]was [/STRIKE] is so me. If there are four in the fridge I relax. Open one about six, probably on the the second whilst cooking, maybe a third after clearing up etc. Slumped in front of the telly by 8pm.
The thing is when my DH was alive it was a social thing together, chat about the day, pottering about etc. Now it's just me and I hate the example I'm setting to my teenagers. I haven't had a lager since Thursday night. There was a bottle of rose in the fridge which left over from my SIL visit over half term. I'm not a big wine drinker, but have had a glass or so over the last three nights.
I hate this dependence. I keep coming back to this thread full of good intentions but I always end up making excuses.
This really has got to stop.DC.

I agree. Im exactly the same. There's always a good reason to have a drink - celebrate a good day, cheer yourself up because you've had a bad day, someone's birthday, its a day with a 'y' in it.:o
Ive been so down and anxious just lately though that I need to stop drinking to try and get back on top. Im going to do without alcohol at least until Thursday and Im not thinking about Friday until I get there.0 -
Morning everyone
This is me reporting back from my little break in Playa de las Naughty Step.Did manage one AF day so Winebox thats me on 10. Enjoyed my break without going OTT so I am happy to be back on track again this week.
Had a quick read through to see how everyone is doing and theres some really good successes by the sound of it:j Starting to think about what I want to achieve in March this week, I did consider doing a slink away and getting on with it on my own but I did commit to doing 3 months of targets so I am on for March.
Have a great week everyone.29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
Good morning everyone.
I think we all need to get a bit more upbeat on this thread again so come on....jump back up on the wagon and lets have a POP party.
What Beachbeth says is good.....do till Thursday and think about Friday when it gets here.
I do think Bismarck is right though. For some people the choice needs to be taken away re days you can and cant have a drink....
For some...including myself it has to be .....Never again.....which is very scary but MUST be done for the health and sanity of not only oneself but family as well.
Take care and good luck for today.....small steps.

ITS FOR: DEAR LURKY!
THERE IS A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE GO TO BE
IT IS KNOW AS THE LAND OF LURKDOM TO YOU AND ME
ITS CAREFULLY HIDDEN AWAY FROM PRYING EYES
I AM TOLD BY A FRIEND THAT, THAT IS WHERE OUR DEAR LURKY LIES
AND THOUGH WE MAY TRY TO SET HIM FREE
IT SEEMS FOR NOW IT IS WHERE HE WANTS TO BE
SO WE ASK HIM TO COME BACK AND JUST SEE
HOW MUCH WE MISS HIM WHEN WE ARE ALL TRYING TO: STAY ALCOHOL FREE
Thought we could all do with cheering up, HP have you really gone? (Are you sure :-)
Lots love everyone. Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Did ya miss me? (said Lurky, with rising inflection)
I've been in the woods (where there's no web connection)
I've missed every one of you on this thread
and I've so much to catch up on, it fills me with dread
I hope we're all well and resisted the ale
For me? Well I have a sorry tale.....
My AF days have been very few
Since last I came here to see all of you
But never despair, I'm back on the wagon!
Before you all start with the moaning and naggin'
But thank you to Budgie and Molly and others
I've never had so many sisters and brothers
So off I go to catch up on the posts
and tales of spilled pepper and burnt Sunday roasts
And some eating mint feasts, while others go cold turkey
So ta ta for now, from your dear LurkyNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh
