  • Hi without hogging the thread ....

I have just seen myself from the outside looking in.....
To explain I have been cooking dinner and just a simple thing I dropped a fork?

All of a sudden I saw myself from before so to speak, cooking after starting early on the red wine and doing just that: dropping a fork, spilling the pepper etc.

    Its made me think .......
    Back to Allen Carr.

    BB xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Know exactly what you mean Budgie. Usually I would start on the wine when starting to pepare dinner. Then I would lose interest in the dinner and would end up dishing it up late.

Funny how, when you think back, there have been so many times when its affected your day to day life.

Well I'm feeling a bit brighter tonight but am not looking forward to going to bed...ears seem to get worse then. Hope I manage to stay in bed all night tonight!

((hugs)) to everyone that needs them

    Miss P
    xx

whenever something bad hits the fan, it's like we're programmed to reach for the bottle...yet it makes so many things that we need to confront, harder...sometimes what we do can be an unfocused mess... mostly it just gets worse.

I know that only a straight me can make things right in the future. I made my choices and that's that. Nothing can be changed in that. When I was trying to sort stuff out before I had stopped, I was yearning for someone stronger than I felt to come and sort the mess out for me.

I was the biggest problem so that was where the remedy had to start. Wasn't a picnic and still isn't but I really appreciate what I've got now.

I really like reading your posts, and looked back at your previous ones on this thread - you make so much sense, thank you!

Ms London I hope you get to where you want to be? Good luck to you and take care of yourself. Big hugs xxx

To everyone else have a good Saturday night, gosh how many is this now since the beginning of the year when I AM ABLE to remember the end of casualty. :T

    God Bless xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the message Budget Babe - I hope you enjoyed casualty ;).

I might have a look at Allen Carr's book!

Society revolves around drinking, being drunk, getting drunk, laughing about your hangovers together, when infact it's not even funny! How the hell do you break from that mindset???

Youve only got to watch 'Booze Britain', *cringe*.

    Just rambling, sorry!

Enjoy the rest of your evening & weekend, speak to you tomorrow I am sure xx

God, there are things I cant even write down that I have done under the influence of alcohol, although maybe saying them 'out loud' would be better than saying them in my head where I can brush those thoughts under the rug.

I just know I deserve better!

I never really thought this way but I was trying to figure out what alcohol had actually given me that wasn't already really there in the first place. Then I looked at what it had coast me and what it was going to continue to cost me. And it really was alarming.....

  • Dear BB, BHB, Miss P, Jo,

I just read the last few posts to catch up with the thread. The flashbacks are a bit weird when we think about what we have been like after a drink, strange memories we may not enjoy. We enjoy the 'good' times and forget about the less good times and then an idle thought triggers a memory off like this. I think about this when I remembered how I nearly chopped the end of my finger off on NY Eve afer a couple of drinks when making a meal.

:D AF weekend so far for me making it 16/19 AFD target:D Enjoying this AF weekend much more than i would have done last month:D It took one month to make some changes and then another month to build upon them and enjoy the change a little more and it feel better physically and mentally. Sleep pattern improved and coping more positively with cravings on days allowed by me to drink :D
