Something you said in an earlier post about having one can and panicking when to open it, that [strike]was [/strike] is so me. If there are four in the fridge I relax. Open one about six, probably on the the second whilst cooking, maybe a third after clearing up etc. Slumped in front of the telly by 8pm.

When I think back over the last few (or 8 ) years, I have always been like this and it became more and more prevalent last year when I was doing the reduction detox thingy, when I knew I had to drink 6 cans I was relaxed, there were no problems here, same as 5 and 4 cans cos I just started a little bit later...but when I got to 3   The first can went in 5/10 minutes, then I was on to my second and panicking already cos I was already half way through my stash! When I went to 2 cans, my god, half way was only 5/10 minutes into opening my first can!! Don't even get me started on the 1 can a night scenario....should I open it and drink it straight away and deal with it, should I leave it till really late and be thinking about it all night till I had it, or do I open it straight away and allow myself a sip every half hour so it lasts me all night and goes flat and warm

God, putting that down on paper makes me sound really stupid and shows how controlled I am by alcohol. The panic attacks and sweating and irritation I can feel just by some liquid in a can

Anyway, onwards and upwards, WB - please put me down for 8 days :T

Would love to hear any advice re my previous post last night about 'just for today/forever/complacency' thoughts when any of you log in and have time :)

Slept very heavy last night and had my usual vivid dream about me in Tesco car park and somehow my car being written off in the car park, I'm never in it but my car is always completely wrecked when I go to it  any dream readers out there??

    Have a good day :)

    xx

A question for those in the know, i.e. Bis, GC, Eselt, RA et al.... I know I need to do 'one day at a time' and the bigger picture is a scary place to think about but I'm thinking that I need to prepare long term and be aware that I need to be AF forever, I need to stop that complacency tripping me up. In your opinions, should I think of tomorrow and beyond or stick to today?

    Speak to you all tomorrow

    xx

Half and half, you need to think about the bigger picture and know you are going to give up longer term, however, this can be overwhelming, so in that respect it is best to just view it as a day at a time, and get hrough that 1 day, or that 1 party, 1 birthday, etc etc.

I'm no expert though, but even thinking about the possibility of giving up alcohol for life is a scary thought, not sure why, as I cant kid myself that alcohol will have a different affect on me 5 years down the line, like it does now. I suppose not drinking becomes habit????

    As I said, no expert.

Let us know how you get on xx

Today will be day 10 for me Winebox.

I have left myself in the situation that I have to have the next four days AF or I won't make my Feb target and I am out Saturday night and will be drinking so the next four days will have to be without any alcohol.

It is worrying but that thought depresses me.

It's so hard to break habits, I was just thinking about what I need to get in for my dinner tonight and as I'm at home today cos DS is off school and DD2's nursery is shut cos the heating has broken I thought as soon as DD1 gets in I can drive down to Tesco and get the bits I need then go to the offy before OH gets home from work, it's like I had completely forgotten that I wasn't drinking

ETA: also it's a bit worrying that it's not even lunchtime and I'm already thinking about how I'm going to buy drink tonight
