Lurky, that is fantastic, and amazingly brave!!!!

Me, on the other hand......have sucumbed (sp?) to a can of guinness.....can justify till the cows come home but I did have a mare of a day and saw some bloke buying a box full of guinness in sainsburys in front of me and thought....'eff it'.

Went to the offy and bypassed the stella (my normal posion) and bought just the one can of draught guinness. It's all gone now and I've nothing else to drink but coffee which is fine.

So, looks like I'm up for 30 days instead of 31 :(

Well done on sticking to one, jo. Everyone is allowed a wobble.......

Jo I am impressed that you only bought one can, for me its none or all.

I have resisted a drink tonight went abit wobbly earlier and routed around, settled on a chocolate elf and a crunchie.

Ntc hope tonight has gone well for you too?
Pbt and Miamoo well done on the shopping thingy too, we may have to make it our regular challenge?

Alas, me too :o. I went and got two bottles of bitter and a 1/3 bottle of wine for Mrs BHB. All gone now. I steered away from the Stella too, even though larger bottles were the same price. I opted for lower percentage and smaller bottles - so guess its a start.

Not too drastic, but was so damn tense, I thought 'f' it as well.

    New start again tomorrow.

Have changed sig in advance .

    Lurky - Nice Job :T

  • Day 2 for me but its unrealistic tbh, I have not spent time with anyone or been anywhere. I needed to kick the a$$ of the month to get started which I feel I have now done and can settle back to my goal of 15/31 Just another idea for those who have had a bit of a wobble why not see it as a 31 day challenge instead of just January. In other words see if you can do 31 days consecutively or whatever figure you fancy. Just a thought.

Off to bed now to be sure of my 2
Night all and well done to everyone

Back on the wagon please tomorrow

I always think 'what is point of having just one?' - and that is why I cannot have any at all. :rotfl:

I told one of my friends I was having a bit of time off and she also said I "shouldnt do that" and even looked worried like I was stopping her from drinking or something:rolleyes: I think some of my friends have problems with alcohol too and they really dont like the idea of me not drinking as much. It makes sense really over the years we collect people who are like minded and if the pub holds more attraction than the park then thats the people we will attract. My family are quite big drinkers too which doesn't help any either.

The important thing I guess is that we do this for ourselves and don't let others drag us down. This is my new haven for support and there has been masses of it:A :A

so much of this is so true.

if you decide not to drink it unbalances people which is sometimes quite amusing! by stopping, you indirectly query them and their behaviour and they, deep down, know you're right. Which makes them uncomfortable.

Doesn't make things easier but it shows how self-perpetuating this all is. You probably have a network of circumstances that have been carefully designed over a long period of time to facilitate drinking. This all needs to be addressed as the new you emerges.

I'm saying this all has to stop, you just have to change your part in it so that you're happy and meeting your own needs.

    take care everyone.

Jo - today is a new day and it was only a teeny weeny wobble:D

graeme I too think no point in just one so even though it is fine in pg I am not having any at all!

BHB at least you have cut back, better than nothing :T

BB, YM, miamoo and NTC keep up the good work:j  BB keep meaning to say I loved your red wine poem!

I am back at work tomorrow so will be a difficult time for me, no more calling at the shop for wine on the way home cos I have had a bad day!!

Have a great AF day everyone xx
