Hi guys,
Just wanted to say well done to everyone so far.
I have just returned from shopping and I am feeling very pleased with myself as I have avoided the wine aisle, (though I was tempted). I have also given custody of a bottle of contreau and brandy to my mother for safe keeping.
I know if I keep it at home I will probably say just one glass and then before you know it most of the bottle has gone. I really admire people who can stick at just one drink, sadly I am not one of them.
Whilst shopping I found myself thinking of the people on this forum, wondering how you were all doing? Thinking of you all gave me the strength to come home alcohol free. SO THANKYOU/:j
To Lurkio just hang in there, I know its hard temptation will always be there feel proud when you it doesn't beat you and if it ever does remember thats ok too. Hugs.
To the lovely Ntc if Hello Dolly and Mary Poppins help you to stay af then they get my vote.
To Polaroid well done on another af day, I am hoping last night went well for you?
WB hope all goes well for you too.
Hugs to everyone, I am wishing in the future I can go for an evening out and decline a drink, now wouldn't that be something.:rotfl:
On a last note how do you find your friends react to you saying you don't want to drink? I have spoken to a friend telling her I am off drink to which she replied: oh you don't want to do that. But of course I do.
Going for af3 day today, I plan to watch casualty the 2nd part tonight. I did watch last weeks 1st episode but due to too much red wine I don't totally remember what happened.........
Take Care everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Thanks budget_babe and yes I guess drossy TV does help (Im on "PS I love you" now so expect tears :rotfl: ) Well done you for avoiding the wine aisle, Are you counting the money you are saving as well, it really adds up.
I told one of my friends I was having a bit of time off and she also said I "shouldnt do that" and even looked worried like I was stopping her from drinking or something:rolleyes: I think some of my friends have problems with alcohol too and they really dont like the idea of me not drinking as much. It makes sense really over the years we collect people who are like minded and if the pub holds more attraction than the park then thats the people we will attract. My family are quite big drinkers too which doesn't help any either.
The important thing I guess is that we do this for ourselves and don't let others drag us down. This is my new haven for support and there has been masses of it:A :A
Still not sure if I will have a drink later tonight but none so far which is amazing for me:D

Lurky, that is fantastic, and amazingly brave!!!!
Me, on the other hand......have sucumbed (sp?) to a can of guinness.....can justify till the cows come home but I did have a mare of a day and saw some bloke buying a box full of guinness in sainsburys in front of me and thought....'eff it'.
Went to the offy and bypassed the stella (my normal posion) and bought just the one can of draught guinness. It's all gone now and I've nothing else to drink but coffee which is fine.
So, looks like I'm up for 30 days instead of 31DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
