Sorry - I just don't see a way out. I was approached by my line manager a fortnight ago about applying for an internal position because with the current round of redundancies, he can't guarantee he can keep me safe. It now transpires that the job doesn't exist any more.
In my current job, redundancies are being based on performance. My project has gone from being on budget to being significantly over recently and it's all my fault.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

I am sure it is not all your fault it just feels that way. Your line manager must be keen to keep you if he is trying to find you an alternative job. Keep your chin up and I hope that things turn out OK. Whatever happens we are always here for you.

And you have been doing great with your debt reduction so you are in a better position than you would have been.0 -

The cynic in me is thinking that he knows he can't keep me safe because I'm not going to score very well in the 'competence' ratings.
I think they're only trying to hold onto me because my dad's worked here for 18 years and they know he's having financial problems of his own (long story - he's on long term sick leave)Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
