Hi Chalky,
Hope the sun is shining with you!!
Just been looking on facebook at your photos, do you have the pattern for the slippers that you knitted for the Spanish baby, they are just so cute, thought I might give them a whirl.
Happy knitting, have a sangria for me.

• Hi all thought I would just pop in and see you all so to speak lol I'm addicted to knitting and crochet again. I've just started to crochet a baby blanket as I have learnt how to basket weave :T and it looks good so part way through a blue blanket. My lil girl has been cooking and playing all day so don't think she will get round to doing a square.

Hope everyone is doing well see you soon

• Hi to everybody - bet you thought I got lost looking for the wool and the knitting needles - nearly did. I managed to find crochet hooks and some rather odd coloured wool, so I have done two crochet dog blankets. Frankly I hope the dogs are either short sighted or blind in one eye it could be my saving grace. Found one pair of knitting needles -no idea what size they are so I have knocked up a couple of IS hats, I must go back and read what to do with them sure I read that they could be handed in to Age Concern somewhere???? Anyone confirm that for me?
Very warm welcome to all the newbies - this is a very friendly and addictive place to be. Now that I have got this far can I now please beg to join Wooligans on Yahoo?
Off for another knitting needle hunt ..............I know they are in a box somewhere in the barn. Hope you all have a great weekend. Hey great result Nikki well done you.

Thanks nikki

Where should I send my hats to?

When you’re done, please pop them in an envelope, write the number of hats on the outside of the envelope and send your hats to:
The Big Knit
innocent
1 The Goldhawk Estate
Brackenbury Road
London
W6 0BA
ps. We always love to hear your stories. If you have any interesting facts behind the making of your hats or photos to share then please pop in a note. Good luck and thanks for helping out.
Can I have some bobbles please?

We've decided that little woolly hats look just as good with or without bobbles. Therefore, we're not going to be sending out bobbles this year. If you want to make or buy your own to attach to your hat then that's great, but bobbles aren't a necessity. It's totally up to you.
How many hats are you trying to make this year?

This year we've set ourselves a massive target of over 500,000 hats. That's really big but we want to try and make lots of money for Age Concern (and we's like to see what they would look like all piled up in Fruit Towers).
How much money goes to Age Concern?

For every hat-wearing smoothie sold, innocent and Sainsbury's will donate 50p to Age Concern. If we meet our target of 500,000 hats this year, that will mean £250,000 for Age Concern.
Where will the hats be sold?

This year the hats will be on our smoothies in Sainsbury's from 5th November.
I have friends that like to knit – how can I get them involved?

This year we really want to help get people knitting with their friends. If you've got some creative or knitting friends and would like to get together with them to knit some hats then give Meera a shout (thebigknit@innocentdrinks.co.uk). We can send you a special pack to help you organize a little gathering.
I've got a snazzy hat pattern that I'd like to share.

That's great. We really want everyone to be able to share their patterns this year. You can submit ideas onto the knitting blog or pop them in an e-mail to thebigknit@innocentdrinks.co.uk
What's the deadline for hats this year?

So that we can get all the hats on our smoothies in time, we need to receive them in Fruit Towers by the 17th October. Hopefully everyone won't send them on the last day though (the postman might be unhappy).
What can I do with the hats I've bought?

If you have hats from last year, please send them to us again this year. We will re-use your hats and strongly advocate hat recycling. If you're not going to send them to us perhaps you could use them as an egg cosy, a ferret hat or to keep a table leg warm.
I have a question and need a human being to answer it.

If you've got any knitting questions then just contact Meera. She can help to get you started and sort out any queries that you have. Send an e-mail to meera@innocentdrinks.co.uk or phone 020 8600 3981.

Looks likeyou can only post them this yr sorry

• Thanks for all the info in the posts above, I've just made 3 IS hats :j

k2tog I'd love it if we were a knitting group able to meet too, and I need someone to show me how to crochet as well!

I've also made 2 adult hats for when you next update Kathy (takes quiet a bit longer than IS hats hehe!)

Shezmit, I'm in the middle of 2 baby blankets, so shall send the buntings and baby hats that I've made with them in a week or so when the blankets are finished.

Hope you all have a good weekend and enjoy the sunshine (it's sunny here too!)

• Hello. I'm a newvie to the site but I love to knit and cross stitch. Sadly can't crochet - although my Darling Mother has tried to teach me on may occasions.

If anyone can PM me the details of what you knit or point out where I can get them from I can make a start. Knitting fingers will stop me from wandering to the shops. As my Granny always said the Devil makes work for idle hands and unfortunately the Credit Card makes work for mine!!!

Thanks

As I've been struggling a bit with my baby cardi, I've been 'walking away' from it periodically so that I can go back refreshed, so inbetween I've been doing some easy knitting!

Please update me with 4 more squares Kathy, thanks. Think I'll try the IS hats, or maybe a bunting as these seem quite straightforward for a novice like me! Re the buntings, on a link I found here I see that sometimes stillborns are referred to as 'babies born sleeping'. What a lovely way to put such a sad event, so from now on I'll think of buntings as sleeping-bags, whether they're for those little souls gone or still with us.

Hi everyone and welcome to KathrynRobson! Glad to have you with us. If you read the very first post on this thread you will find all the info and links you need. If you are unsure of anything, please feel free to ask on here - there's always someone around to help!

Thanks for all the updates - there's loads to add tomorrow!

Shezmit - thanks for the info.

Nikki - thanks for all the info on the Innocent Smoothie hats.

K2tog - it would be great if we could all meet, wouldn't it? We'd all get on like a house on fire!

Chalky - loved the photos! And thanks for your totals and that amazing number of teddies! Our totals are going through the roof!

Well, have been inundated with visitors today but hoping for a quiet evening knitting once I have loaded up some photos onto the Yahoo site.

Maytaurus has kindly offered to let me email photos to her to put on here (I can't get them on here, don't know why) so, when I send them to her, I shall also post the patterns for the two crochet bibs I've done.

Anyway, off to visit the Wooligans!

Hope you all have a great evening.

Could you imagine? If we think we don't get enough work (except knitting!) done around here as it is, I hate to think what we'd be like if we all lived close!! It would be such fun though!
