  • Thank you. Will read the first post again and make notes. Will be in the loft digging out my newedles tomorrow - or up to my Mums to 'borrow' some.

May take me a while to get into the click of things but will get there no doubt.

You have all done a fabulous job with the totals of your knitting. Big Congrats!!!!

Kathryn - thanks for your kind words. We are very proud of our totals, as you can imagine! This has been one of the best things I have ever been involved with; I love knitting and crochet and to be able to help others while doing something I enjoy is great! I'm sure it won't be long before you get back into the click of things!

Aeshna - I don't get enough housework (yawn) done as it is; if we all lived close together, I'm sure I'd end up on How Clean is Your House?!

  • Nikki - thanks for clarifying the situation re the IS hats - perhaps they will allow drop of at Age Concern nearer the date - I can dream can't I?

Kathy - can you add me to the list please
2 dog blankets (this colour) - 5 IS hats (assorted rubbish colours)

I promise to do better when I find the correct size knitting needles and the pale coloured baby wool - my DH had said that its all too small for his big hairy sailor fingers to knit, so perhaps I should show him how to crochet dog blankets when he is next home.

To all who don't know.Oh and I spend our winters in Spain and recently this wonderful group helped the baby at the Orphanage here with wonderful donations of clothes. I wake up every morning and think of the dear little baby wearing 1 of the wonderful items that were donated and brought out by DSIL.
Well news of my/our knitting has got around and a friend called today and saw my group of lads akas Teddies for Tragedies and she exclaimed " oh no, not more teddies !! "

Apparently 1 of my neighbours took the pattern to her local dames group which is the same as our WI and they have taken our causes to heart and teddies and premmie baby clothes are being knitted all over the area. Well we come home in our VWT4 and it looks as if there is going to be a lot of excess baggage. DOH says the teddies have got to " wing walk " it home. The ladies meet once a month and the next meeting is on Monday so I am going to cobble a flyer together with all the worthwhile causes we knit for plus some aptterns for those who do not have the internet. I thought the Innocent smoothie hats would be a good one. So we shall see but thought you would all be pleased to think that all your " Spanish " kindness is being reciprocated.
Try and do a good deed every day.

Maytaurus - what a fantastic picture; the teds look full of character. I lived near Caister for five years many summers ago. It's cold up there!

Nikki - the pattern is gorgeous - thanks for posting it!

Shelbell - there's no address for the Wooligans. All our items are sent either to Preemies UK or Loving Hands (links in the first post of this thread), and they distribute them to the various places that need them. There is also a link there to join the Wooligans Yahoo group; it's where most of our photos are posted. Let us know how your knitting group goes on Tuesday!

I've just made a couple of baby hats. I've tried making the crochet vent hat but get into a muddle with it for some reason, so I'm trying to find another way of making them! Until I do, Shezmit, are non-vent crochet preemie hats OK for now?

See you all tomorrow; I'll update first thing - and, knowing me, that could be really early!
