I've been busy with visitors for a few days and haven't popped in here until now, and look what happened!!! Fantastic - Big Welcome to all the newcomers, it's great to have you - I'm pretty new here but can already vouch for its addictive properties...be warned! Special hallo to **Dawn / PurpleTeddyBear ** - fellow porridge-for-brains here, with a 6 month old baby girl - isn't it lovely?:j
Right, must crack on with some cooking as still have visitors staying and won't get much knitting time till next week - but can recommend the quick crochet blankie on Bev's site, it's growing quite quickly with minimal attention - link here: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/5-daylovie.html (and holes not too big )
Have fun everybody,

Welcome to all newcomers, the forum becomes as addictive as the knitting!!
Nikki, I don't know if you have a Poundstretcher near to where you live, but they often have a decent choice of colours of baby wool, I've not used any myself so not sure how it knits up.
Happy knitting/crocheting to everyone.'Money and good health is coming easily to Flypeople'0 -

If you have a problem finding it in the shop, it’s in the TOY section,
as it is with the childrens crafting things !

Wow - all this activity. Sorry I've been MIA for most of the day because DH has been home. He's had to pop out so I've grabbed the chance to catch up.
Welcome to Jean in France/roamininthegloamin - so glad you have joined us! Have a look at the first post on this thread for all the info.
Nikki - Not all wool shop ladies are as rude as her thank goodness! What a horrid woman. Most of the DK wool these days is very good, even at £1 a ball, which is around what I pay. Like LC Wilson, and most of us I expect, I go by the feel of the wool.
Mrs Moneypenny - DH popped out earlier to get the local paper and came back with this week's Pick Me Up! He checked page five first to make sure it was the right one and came back saying 'I've got your friend's boobs here!' Great picture and well done to you!
Well, we've been very busy today sorting out paperwork; I haven't had time to do any knitting but plan to later.
Well, I'm off for a bath. Have a great evening, everyone!

I was in Semi Chem this morning and they had big balls of wool ( 200/250 g maybe ) Think they were £2.25 -ish, didn`t get a proper look as DGS distracted me.( Note to self - go on your own next time ) I`ve used wool from Poundstretcher and it was fine.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
