Good morning everyone - and to Worleite, too, who has been lurking but has not posted on here for a couple of weeks!

I hope Pippa got off on her hols without too much hassle.

Maytaurus - thanks for all those links! Great timing with Easter on the way.

RoloPolo - I hope you've let your needles cool down!

Shez - all chicks 'eyed', teddies sewn up and awaiting faces, and pram star middles still awaiting faces - hope to get them finished by the end of the week!

Last night I crocheted 1 pair bootees and 1 bib, in a bright tangerine colour. I started a hat that I should just about have enough wool for. I'm working through my stash, finding all the odd balls of wool, and crocheting things until the wool runs out. I have a ball in a lavender colour to start on next. I am also doing a little on the blanket for my forthcoming grandchild each day - it's an easy crochet pattern that I can just pick up and put down. At the moment, I'm definitely finding that crochet is easier on my hands than knitting. One of the reasons is that the wooden needles I am using are too long; I've asked DH to shorten them for me but keep forgetting to remind him!

Anyway, here are the latest totals, so thanks to all of you!

PLEASE NOTE: Thanks to everyone for such a good response to Chalky's appeal for the orphanage in Spain. Her SIL has arrived with all our items, and they have been delivered to the orphanage. Chalky has posted some great photos on page 27 of this thread. I think we will have made a big difference to a baby who arrived there with nothing; doesn't it make you feel good?!

LATEST UPDATE: Don't forget to let me know if I get these figures wrong - as some of you know, it's not difficult for me to make a complete hash of it!

Hi Maytaurus - thanks for the update. I'll add it tomorrow. The bib pattern I'm using is http://www.geocities.com/bbcrafty_17/preemiebib?200916 which I found the other day. It looks complicated but it isn't. There are others, but I couldn't find them in my folder last night. I'll look for them and post the links.

    Great picture again!

Maytaurus - for some reason only the photo came out! I'll see if I can find the actual pattern. Here it is! http://www.geocities.com/bbcrafty_17/preemiebib.html

    Here's another one! http://www.bonniebabies.co.uk/new_page_9.htm

    and another one http://www.angels4preemies.com/preemiebibknit.html

    and one more http://www.knitlist.com/2003/babybib.htm

I know there are some more crochet patterns for bibs somewhere - I'll have a look later. I'd better get DH up for work now!

    KathyXX

I haven't looked throught this list yet - hopefully there are some good crochet ones http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/baby_clothing.php

  • morning all.
    i love those sock babies:T

i spotted your link on the knitters thread maytaurus for the cremeegg animals they look really good and would be ideal for a fund raiser.

i had a finishing and making up day yesterday,
i got the buttons on the cardis for my friends little twins so they are all packaged up and ready to post off today.
I've kintted and stuffed all the pieces i need for 2 sackboys but i cant put them together till i get the zips for their tummys.
i stuffed and sewed the two little rabbits together i'd made and made the dress for the second one. i think ill hang on to these for the choir fund raiser as ive not got anything else to donate to that and i did make the rather foolish mistake of saying i'd knit them a few iems for a stall as they desperately need to raise some funds and have just set up a friends of the choir group to aid it with hopefully all choir boys parents contributing in some way. as i have 2 choir boys im going to have to do something. Kathy am i ok to list the items i make for that on here as it is charitable?

might do a few rows on youngest DS blanket square later and ive found some wool that will be suitable for boobs so could start another one of those.

Maytaurus - I love the sock babies. I might have a go at them at some point. My sewing is not perfect but I'd like to try!

Mrs Moneypenny - and everyone else - feel free to list anything you make for charity. Every cause is a good one and it's great to know that we are helping a variety of charities.

Right, back to the ironing I suppose!
