Hi Always Poor :hello:hope you like it here.
Keep seeing mentions of ironing - did a bit yesterday (essentials) so I could postpone doing the whole pile for a bit longerflylady I ain't, sadly.
Sewed up a load of mini Christmas stockings and did a couple of IS hats today, so hope to do some more of my blanket this evening as I'm getting more and more aware of time slipping away to finish projects.
Jaqui ((((hugs)))) for you and DS. It must be so hard to see him being upset. Fingers crossed for the waiting list to hurry up.
Might pop back later if I get a chance.0 -
hello lovely people...well I can confirm I will sleep toight... started at 6am and not stopped! Made 240 flogging at car boot incl table and chairs at home. Thank you for lovely comments/compliments...of all thats been hard/painful in the last month the love and support of friends has totally overwhelmed me and made me feel truely blessed...as an example a friend made mum and I a roast dinner knowing we would be too tired to cook...almost made me cry with the thoughtfullness...no knitting today though but pleased that the hat is on the way...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Hiya its me in for a quick nose and chat before I pack lappy away for a week,
I see we have some new members, :hello:hello Fabio and ALWAYS POOR, you will love it in here we are a happy friendly bunch, we have our ups and downs but there is always someone around to help us through the bad bits
Well the party went really well I've done my okey kokey, agadoo, simon said and congas now I am all danced out, gettin too old for this malarky I reckon.....well ....a bit maybe :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
What is it about those sort of songs??? all the LO's love them(and some of us Big ones);)
It was lovely to see all the littlies together from the whole family our side and DIL's side, and our new DGS was in his element. His little eyes lit up when he saw the buffet, needless to say he had plenty to eat,
DS1/DIL and DGD's came up from West Sussex as well, the girls had made a haribo/flumps/choc button cake, it went down a storm, with everybody not just the LO's.
Off to pack my knitting bag with LOADS of wool, cant sit idle in the car I usually manage to get 1 scarf done on the way down and 1 on the way back. Taking the blanket as well and some other bits and pieces, so I will have enough to keep my fingers busy.
Pam - thanks for the pattern will have a go at it when I get back
Shelley - Not a favourite of mine either, ironing, but when the board is out and a dvd in the TV I am ok:rotfl:

morning ladies and welcome newbies - hope that you are all looking forward to a wonderful yarn filled week. had a bit of a bad weekend, had finished a long cardigan for myself, only to notice that i had made the body a little smaller than the directions (not too bad, it still fits perfectly) but followed the directions with the sleeves and they are too small. only tried the jumper on when i had sewn it all together, therefore had to unpick the sleeves and start again. am now halfway through the first sleeve.
also tackled the ironing and some of the cleaning, but with DH home, that means that i will have to do it all again today. How is it that someone who is normally terribly neat manages to leave the house like a bomb has hit it?
lovely to hear from you May, and very sharp to notice that Lorna and Jean have not been around for a while. hope that they are both okay - ladies, sending you gentle thoughts and loads of hugs - if you need them.
as my SIL is going to take my squares back to South Africa for me, i got them down from the loft in readiness for her visit (only about 4 weeks away, but nothing like being ready) and have decided that she is going to need a very big bag - will have to break it to her gently. she is normally one of those people who can manage to pack a tiny bag for a week away - tiny is just not going to do it this time.
anyway - off for some exercise and then some more in the form of house cleaning (any volunteers of help????) and then, some gentle crocheting on the sleeves over lunch.
have a wonderful day everyone ... oh and well done ISOM - another successful day behind you.

Thank you or lovely comments as always..back to rich tea biscuits today which seems to hae become a gauge of how I feel! Some days I can eat and others feel anxious and cant and its clearly one of those days...am also shattered but must muster energy...need to clear rest of sitting room for carpets and then move everything else in - people will help this eve but will do what I can first. A potential lodger may be interested so have to clear room pdq (pretty damn quick) so she can come see tomorrow....trip to debt councellor this am and the tip, return tables to church etc...
loved the last knit may!! Have a safe trip pip...now that youve done your ironing sczmit (? sp not a grest word for the dyslexically minded!!) do you fancy doing mine ....pretty please!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Good morning all - just popping in to say hello! Our visitors are here now so I won't get much chance to post but I will log on as often as I can.
Welcome to Always Poor - good to have you with us. I see that you've had a warm welcome from the others. Feel free to ask any questions if there's anything you're unsure of.
Well, I'd better get on with breakfast - a late one for us because we were up until 1 o'clock in the morning talking and enjoying some wine!
Hope you all have a great day. I'll read the thread properly later - don't want to miss anything!

Morning all,
Welcome Always Poor.....I am quite new too but enjoying this thread a lot.
Finished a little hat and bootee set yesterday and started my first boob. It is pink in the body and will have a little dark pink nipple, so hoping it will look ok.
It is kind of like knitting a hat really isn't it ?
Also want to start a crib although will hold off on that in the meantime as also want to do some more of DS's jumper (which for some reason in my head I keep calling cardi!).
Anyhoo....better go an get moving, we slept late today.
Hope you are all ok and have a nice day.......or until I see you again.

Morning all, :hello: hope you all had a good weekend.
ISOM - fantastic result from your boot sale. At our local one, everyone expects to get things for pennies - not pounds - so it`s sometimes not worth the effort.
Maytaurus - super posts as usual. Glad to see you`re having some good days. re Abakhan BOGOF`s, I had a look there but they didn`t have the colour I wanted - shame - so that`s why Knitwell got the order. Good service too, ordered wool Thursday night and it arrived Saturday morning, and that`s 2nd class post !!! Had a look for the snowmen in your pic but couldn`t find the patternhave to have another look later.
Pippa S - enjoy yourselves at the van. We used to have one and I really miss it - it was great being able to just get away from it all for a weekend or better still a week !!
Fabio and Always Poor - welcome to both of you.
You`ll find lots of information in the very first post but feel free to shout if you have a problem / need advice. There`s always someone here willing to help or point you in the right direction. Mioliere (Kathy)does an update once a week for anything you knit for charity ( she doesn`t include our `personal` knitting projects in the update ie things for family/friends etc)
so if you want your items included, post it up in red so that she can see it easily. Its amazing how quickly the totals mount up, and all for worthwhile causes.
Roamin` and LC - if you are lurking, hope you are both OK. Have a ((hug)) in case things are tough just now. We all need one now and again.
Off to do some blitzing - DS is away at college this week again so think I`ll tackle his room. Must go and find the industrial rubber gloves, mask etc as I never know what I`ll find in there
See you later, have a good day.
