Hi peeps!
just a quick visit, I've had a productive day without doing dreaded "H" word. Tidied up the front garden & trimmed my shrubs in front of the window so that I can see who's coming & going. Unfortunately I didn't put my sunglasses on, I really should know better, ended up with a slight migraine so retired to bed at teatime, after a couple of hours sleep I'd perked up enough to watch Strictly and I've just managed to eat a little so I'm getting there.
Just clicked on the wrong bookmark and look what I found:
isn't it gorgeous! enough to make anyone want to crochet!!

Right, I'll love you and leave you before the headache comes back.

Hi Everyone
Loads of lovely links Maytaurus - you really are a star at finding them.
Kathy, enjoy your visitors!
Pippa, have a lovely time at the party and trip to the van - give your newest family member a squeeze from me.
Have had a very busy day - first time I've looked on here all day! Am going to do the foundation change for another non-butterfly blanket square and then retire to bed. Will maybe update tomorrow as it's been a while, but it will look impressive!
hope everyone is having a good weekend x
So much for the foundation chain - just did another half square and caught up with LH as well. Off to bed now. Really.0 -
Hi peeps - the following is an extract from a post in Ravelry by eskimimi : ".....attentions the latest fund-raising drive by a Cornish clothing company called Seasalt. This company is asking for donations of handmade scarves to display in it’s windows over the month of October (which, obviously, starts in just under two weeks, so you’ll have to be speedy).
These scarves will each have attached a large tag displaying the name of the kind crafter who made the scarf and also any website information if the knitter has a website/blog etc.
All proceeds from the selling of these scarves will go towards the Bumblebee Conservation trust who do important work in trying to halt the speedy decline of the UKs bee populations.
I’ve written a blog post here with further information. the London Stitch and !!!!! also have a blogpost about the fund-raising which you may also wish to read. ............................................., I just thought it was a nice cause that some folks here might be interested in."
I do hope its ok to post this here.
Heads a lot better but now I'm not tired 'cos I slept earlier
luv

Oh, so much to read and lovely links to explore! Thanks, Maytaurus and Prfungi, and also for the info about the bees. It's one of the things I'm interested and concerned about so I will have a good read later. Pam - it's fine to post anything like that here. As Sir Peter Scott said years ago - something about the diversity of life and animals and to remember that 'it's their world, too'. I've never forgotten it and think of it every time I hear about rainforests being destroyed, and all the other things man does that has such an impact on the natural world.
Orkney Star - I've 'approved' you for the Yahoo group. I'm the mod!
ISOM - your Mum is more than welcome! Will look forward to 'meeting' her and you know she'll get the warmest of welcomes!
Well, today I'll be really busy but I'll try and log on as often as I can. Our friends Skyped last night for last minute advice about the drive down. Even though he was a long-distance truck driver, he's unusually nervous, bless him! It didn't help that we had to tell him that the last major roundabout before us has just been closed off for maintenance! We've told them to ring us when they get to a certain landmark, and we will come and rescue them!
Anyway, off to add Pippa's and Don's totals to the last update.
Hope you all have a great Sunday - I will, once our friends have actually arrived and the vino collapsio has been poured!
KathyXX
Edited to say that I've added Pippa's and Don's latest totals, so the update is up to date - once the visitors have gone, I shall tidy the list up and post it on my blog. I can see that it's getting longer because the font size has been reduced somehow, to fit it in to the post!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Hi all,
I fancy having a go at some of these ideas, but I'm not sure where to start.
I'm a reasonable basic knitter. (Done lots of Innocent hats before.)
What's good to start with / What's usually most needed ?0 -
Hi Fabio and a warm welcome to you; it's good to have you with us! If you read the very first post on this thread, it will give you lots of info and so on about what we knit. The best things to start with, perhaps, are preemie hats (for premature babies) and buntings, but we make a really wide variety of stuff these days. On the first page - and on all of Maytaurus's posts - you will find links to all the patterns we use, as well as tutorials and so on. Maytaurus, Prfungi, and others are always finding us new patterns, so the list is getting longer all the time!
Shezmit - who runs Preemies UK - regularly posts a list of most-needed items, and Loving Hands have lots of appeals and challenges to fill, too. Links to both are in the very first post.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them on - we're a helpful bunch and will do our best to answer them.
I know you will get a very warm welcome from all the others!
