    Lovely link Don!
Chalky, hope you have a lovely time with your DIL.
Mioliere, hope the weather perks up for you again I get soooo much more done when the weather is fine.
Good news re the jewellery ISOM and fantastic saving with your squares Dpixie!
Are you off to the 'van again Pippa? Brrrr - best get that blanket finished!
Starting a sleeping bag in red because I have quite a bit of red yarn, fancy a break from stockings for a bit and I remember how gorgeous my boys looked in red when they were tiny - not that I'm biased :D.
Must get an early night tonight because I'm shattered and very busy at work at the mo, but I quite like busy.
Off to make DH a cup of tea and take it to him in the bath - must be good for some brownie points!
Where are you today Mushroom Lady?! Hope you've been busy catching up with Pamspal.
Special (((((hugs))))) for you Elaine. Hope you are feeling a little better today.
  • istockphoto_2990038-yellow-chanterelle.jpgHi K2Tog, you lookin' for little me!!!!!!!! Here I am, thanks for asking, glad you missed me - oops sorry for big pic :rotfl:

Evening everyone, hope each and every one of you had the best possible day!

Chalky - have a good break, I hope your crochet tutorials go well!

    Don79, lovely linky - ta!

dpixie - v.good of your SIL to transport the squares!

Mioliere - I hope your weather improves for the visit, I can recommend hot chocolate with a wee drop of brandy for warming up for bedtime:beer:

Orkneystar, you're doing so well with your knitting - keep it up:T

psso - glad to see you posting;)

ISOM - keep up the good work; try the pills for a couple of weeks - sleep is THE best healer, a good rest will help you cope with everything! ((hug))

Onlygirl, I like a shopping list and usually write one but almost always forget to take it with me :rotfl:

I've spent the last couple of days with my "working" head on - trying to sort out a load of paperwork for a friend whose DH died recently, there's tons of forms covering protected payment insurances, mortgage insurances etc. the poor girl is totally overwhelmed, half of the stuff she didn't know anything about so she's frightened of bailiffs turning up at her door. Good progress so far but I found it quite difficult putting on my "neutral businesslike" head on - I actually wanted to hit one person I talked to!
I forgot how tiring and time wasting it can be spending hours on the 'phone just to answer a simple question! Still 2/3rds done so the end is in sight :T

In the middle of all this I took Mum out  and, despite having agreed that she didn't need anything, she managed to buy a skirt (hasn't worn one for 3 years), jumper and a cardi. On the good side - she picked a birthday card for my little bro and a pressie which isn't a Watch (like the last 2 non cash gifts - he now has 4) I suggested she buy Delias how to cheat book, on offer in WHSmith - success:j.

Have to go now, laptop is extremely grumpy:mad: must treat it to more memory - wish I could do the same for Mum:rotfl:

    luv

Hi everyone - it's good to be back! My electrics were going on and off all day yesterday, so I couldn't get near the PC until late last night. Still, DH is happy with how much has been done in the house, and I'm happy that the mess has been cleaned up!

F1 - I read somewhere that the veg pot warmers have to be in by 7th Oct. I'll see if I can find where I read it to confirm, but I'm sure it's a week earlier than the hats.

Only Girl - sorry I got the wrong name when I posted about lapghan sizes! I fund another pattern for a child's blanket which said 44" x 44". I think I'll just carry on until it looks the right size! I've done the four 9" squares now, and will sew them together then start the stripes. I want to get on to the plain rows because, when our guests are here next week, it will be easy to work on while we're chatting. I find it hard to sit with idle hands!

Pam - you must be a real blessing for your friend. I hope things get sorted for her soon. A (((hug))) to her from me at such a difficult time.

DPixie - it's great that your SIL will save you all that money on postage!

ISOM - glad you have a good doctor; makes all the difference, doesn't it?

Thanks for all the links, everyone! It's lovely getting new patterns. DON - I love the little shoes!

I haven't updated this week because it's been hectic, but I will try and do it today. Sorry I've been so slack with it.

Our friends arrive on Sunday and leave the following Sunday, so I should be able to update next week's soon after they leave. I don't know how much time I'll get on here while they're here, but I will at least be able to log in first thing in the morning and a couple of times during the day - I hope! I missed not being able to come on here yesterday while the electrics were off!

Well, the kettle is playing my song - see you all later.

Glad I haven`t missed the boat this week as far as the update goes. Where does the time go ??

    Update - all for LH.

    1 gents jumper
    10 hats
    1 scarf
    1 bag
    1 sands blanket
    6 veg pot covers

Been busy knitting cushion covers for DGD`s bedroom with the silvery/white Zanzibar from Kemps and am waiting for some (hopefully) black/silver Foxy to come from Knitwell .

It`s a bright morning here , so after I`ve taken DD to work I`ll have to go and chuck some dead stuff from the garden & greenhouse in the garden waste bin as it gets emptied today. Shame we don`t have a compost heap -nowhere to have one tho`.

Just time for another coffee before we go. Back later.

Pam, I know all about the `strangling someone` thing !!!!
One company I had to contact asked for death cert. marriage cert. my birth cert. (as they do ) which I duly sent. Week later another request for said documents (which they would have had by that time), following week ANOTHER request for the docs - but in the same post was a nice cheque along with the documents I`d sent them. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left is doing !!

Pippa.S - Hopefully the Foxy wool is the same colour as the hedgie you made, don`t know how long it will take to knit a rug for her bedside _pale_. She might change her colourscheme by the time i get it done :rotfl:

http://www.knitwell.co.uk/acatalog/ This is where I ordered the wool.....bargain price too.

Items for stall would need to be here by 27/28th October please.

Sleepy drinks - I don`t like hot chocolate - not too keen on chocolate at all, family think I`m VERY weird. Do you think the brandy would work in Horlicks :rotfl::rotfl:?

ISOM - now that you`ve got the hang of emptying cupboards
want to come and do mine ?????

Off to see the moneyman at the bank this afternoon AGAIN. More info to try to understand I suppose.

Hope everyone is having a good day. (((hugs))) to those who need them.

evening all...knitting group tomorrow so in haste as I have to find and print some patterns - people are getting tired of just squares which I understand!
love the mushroom pic pfungi. Hugs re mums memory...mine will I suspect go same way. shes 72 and I finally got her to see gp and he just said she was fine....grr!! Really wanted her to push for a full assessment but like so many she doesent like being assertive with doctors...
tabs worked and I woke at 5 (longest sleep yet) but alas was very groggy this am so just taking one today...wont be on them more than a week as dont like taking them and all are v. addictive and thats the last thing I need on top of everything else...
hugs pfungi re helping friend...lovely that you are there for her as so hard to think at all, never mind straight, when under such immense pressure/stress/loss and hugs for you psso as you sort through yours.
Funny you should say that re sorting - I've actually enjoyed the declutter and its emotional but liberating in some ways...a way of evaluating what is special to me emotionally, what is of financial value and what needs to be kept and what can go...some tears but mostly feels a cleansing thing...a weight off in some ways...would happily help do yours but have no idea where you live. One of the things I have considered longer term is if there is any mileage in helping people do the decluttering for whatever reason...hope money man goes ok...I'm absolutely rubbish at it but thankfully have people who arent! Spreadsheets and numbers just make my brain shut down!!
hugs pippa for start at stupid o clock...I have a lie in tomorrow but car boot on sun!
hugs those that need them. Hopeyoure ok may?
1 burial warp for loving hands
is my update...ill catch up with myself but for now clearing and making money are priority although having a group of people knitting to give to me to disseminate helps me feel less guilty!!

Hi everyone. I've been MIA all day, helping DH insulate the attic roof - a horrid job but one that has made a real difference. We've used some really shiny stuff that looks like bubble-wrap so the room looks like a children's space age play area at the moment! We won't have chance to plasterboard it until our visitors have been or gone, but at least we have a reasonable extra bedroom for now.

I haven't had time to read the posts yet but plan to get up early and have a good read.

I hope you are all having a lovely Friday. Here, it's been a bit sunny but then we had a thunderstorm (which meant unplugging my Livebox) and torrential rain. I'm really hoping it gets better when our guests are here!

Anyway, off for a shower and a sit down with my crochet - I've been longing to do that all day!
