morning maytaurus, hope that you are feeling perky today. your mail certainly did make me smile a lot.
kathy, i hope the weather improves for you, i know how horrid it can be. we have visitors arriving from singapore this afternoon, i think they are in for a bit of a shock when they arrive - they are going to think that it is freezing.
did some research on gas/elec, and it would appear that although our usage did go up a bit last winter, the prices seem to be the thing that have made the most difference. unfortunately for our current supplier, once he has given us our £100 bonus for being there a year, he is going to find out that we are going to be going elsewhere. i cannot believe the cost difference, about £500 for the same time of year for almost identical usage! southern electric, here we come, or that new one, first utility. anyway, as that investigation kept me from knitting/crocheting, i had to tell you about it.
yesterday my SIL called, she is having to visit the UK on a course (she works for BA) and she has kindly agreed to take my squares (for knit a square) back to south africa for me, saving me in the region of £40 - £80. i am so happy, i cannot wait to get all the squares out and bundle them up so that they are ready for her. it will definitely make some space in my "finished works" box, then i can make even more stuff.
oh well, happy thoughts and much love to you all today, i am off to the gym to make up for my missed visit tomorrow. have a wonderful, bright, yarn-filled day everyone.

Hi Maytaurus - thanks for another lovely post. I don't begrudge the UK any of the good weather it's getting, I promise! I know we've been VERY lucky over here - and we need the rain. I don't like the cold, though! I love the crocheted snowman - he's really cute. Another thing to add to my list! Haven't checked the other links yet. Thanks for reading my blog, too.
F1 - good luck with the school.
Kathy - from still-raining-France!

dpixie - O how kind of your SIL to take your squares, and VERY OS. think you better get your needles out and knit your visitors some scarves though, cant have them freezing and going home with cold's :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Shelley - I have a few buntings, bootees and a couple of boobs ready for you will hoprfully send them before I go away next Monday. OH is having a look through the garage to see if there are any keys lurking, I found some small keys like they use in plastic windows and little padlocks, would they be any good :question::question:
May - awww if I could bottle it and send you some I gladly would :A
Kathy - I know what you and Chalky mean, remember the 2nd ripple blanket I started weeeeks ago, well I still cant get into it I get it out and simply can't take to it goodness knows whyI love the colours, but  perhaps thats it they are not really energy colours. Because I wanted something to match in with the colours in the caravan, I'm using brown, fawn, cream, light coffee and a lovely coral, hmmm a re-think may be in order, perhaps try something along the Attic 24 lines. Will keep you posted.
Better go get something done, think I'll put some socks on as well it's really cold here today.

thanks all...docs lovely and got to go back in two weeks just to update. Main prob is the not sleeping which makes me struggle to cope so now have the knock out version and if that doesent work will just have to live with it - tabs are v. addictive and thats the last thing I need! I'll be fine, honest! Love the ripple blanket and lovely to see attick is pregnant!! Funny how you care for people you dont know IRL - although have made good friends from here who have come out of internet land into real life!!
How hard are socks to knit? Jut wondering if I can make myself some? Fergs jumper next but still jewellry to do as make money #1 priority at the mo, although have done more clearing and the previously full cupboard is having an identity crisis cos its empty!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
