Good morning all. It's not as early as it looks - we're an hour ahead of you! I woke up and just couldn't get back to sleep.
ISOM - thanks for your flattering words. You will notice that I wasn't brave enough to use a close-up photo!
F1Widow - I really feel for your poor son. It's horrible worrying that your child is not happy at school. I really hope you and he can get it sorted out. The building in the photo is only a barn (it's as big as a house!) which, at the moment, is full of tools, gardening stuff, and spiders!
Pippa - did you manage to get any sleep last night?!
Chalky - I love the personal touch with the blogs. I loved all the family photos in yours, and your wedding photo is gorgeous. You look so sweet and innocent! I tried two different blogging sites and plumped for Weebly which Prfungi suggested (thanks, Pam!). I struggled with that one for a bit, tried another one which felt like I was on another planet) then went back to Weebly. DH looked at my first attempt and said it was far too wordy (a bit like I am in real life - I can talk for England and France!), so I edited it and it met with his approval! I still need to find out how to link to other blogs (like yours!) and there was something else I struggled with but I've forgotten what it was - oh,yes, that's it; I want to customise the main picture heading like you've done with your lovely teddies piccie). Still, it's fun working on it - luckily, DH is out during the day so I don't have to feel guilty! Having said that, he's at home for the next three days working on the house ready for our guests who arrive on Sunday, so I shall probably be knee deep in dust for the next few days.
I'll take some photos of the room he is working on and post them on the blog - it'll show just how unglamorous things are round here!
Anyway, back to knitting - I've nearly finished a crochet pin cushion to go with my Mum's birthday pressies. Would have finished it last night but we were Skyped by our forthcoming visitors - my DH actually held the webcam over the road map to show them the directions to our place here! Heaven knows if they'll get here at the first attempt!
Hope you all have a good day.

Hi Maytaurus! Hope you're feeling good today. I know I'm early again. Sometimes I just wake up and can't settle back to sleep - no doubt, I'll be heading for a snooze later on today! I love the caterpillar pattern - where on earth do you find all these things? You're really good at searching things out for us, aren't you? A great big thanks for all the patterns and links you keep us supplied with!

morning all. well hubby has gone to queue up at the doctors so that he can be seen early (unless the nurse thinks there is someone more deserving than he is) and we might get some more understanding of what is going on with him.
i still have a whole list of things to do, including updating a friend on the last 3 years of my life (she has moved to america, and we were out of contact for a while as she moved around with her family). anyway priorities were reading this site and my 3 favorite blogs, attic24's, chalky's and kathy's. unfortunately i am a bit of a glutton, so have read all of them, and now the fun is over : ( for the minute - i will check in every few hours for the rest of the day. By the way, love the blogs - i find it all rather exciting.
CONGRATULATIONS pippa, you must be thrilled, i cannot imagine how tough it must have been over the last 2 years, but i think that you and your family are doing a wonderful thing by bringing this little person into your family, i hope that you all have years and years and years of happiness together.
oh well, jobs are calling (as is breakfast). will update later after visiting the wool shop.
wonderful day everyone!

Morning all,
Great news Pippa......you must all be very happy.
Another (hopefully) knitting filled day today for me, DS was a grouch yesterday and so I did not manage to knit properly until the evening. Still finished the first gown, and also made this:
Have another one on the go but this time a cream wool with flecks of red, green, blue and yellow through it. This is small preemie size but might do some more in the next sizes too. Also DS cardi coming on.
Ok, hope you are all well and enjoying reading the posts......lol had to get new printer ink as been printing out a few patterns recently (must get a decent storage box as currently using a sainsburys' foldable reusable shopping bag!).

Morning All
Feeling a bit sad this morning as it's on the bbc news site that Patrick Swayze has died. I know he is a stranger to me, but some of his films have made me very happy over the years and I loved the way he seemed so in love with his wife. May force DH to sit through Dirty Dancing with me tonight while I knit and have a glass of wine.
Must go and do something useful today - house is a tip and I never seem to get ahead.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs to those who need or want one0 -
Hi everyone - DH is hammering away upstairs and singing as he goes. The last thing I feel like doing is singing! I've taken some photos of the 'before' which I will add to my blog.
Things aren't helped by the fact that it's pouring with rain and quite cool here today; I even had to put some socks on!
Orkney - we should have warned you about how much paper and ink you'll get through on here! Still, it must be cheaper than buying knitting patterns in the shops! I love the pattern you've used for your sweet little hat.
DPixie - I really hope your DH can get somewhere with the doctors; it must be driving him - and you - mad.
Must go and put the bread in the oven, then post my photos.
Hope the weather is better where you all are.

Just caught your post, K2tog. I, too, was saddened by Patrick Swayze's death. I only recently watched Dirty Dancing for the first time and really appreciated what a good actor and a great dancer he was. I'm so glad he had a happy marriage which must have been a great support to him.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

It's a very sad day k2tog, Patrick Swayze seemed like a lovely person. I like all his films, Roadhouse is particular a favourite, and Dirty Dancing of course. He will be missed.0

Just heard news of Keith Floyd too ! Such a sad day for their families!!
Well I hope everyone is Ok today
Elaine if you are near . I hope the arrival of the blankets has not been too overwhelmimg!! It seems strangely empty here but I have had the dye bucket out this morning- A gorgeous purple.
I have such happy memories of Granny Squares. Every house used to have a blanket usually made from unravelled wool. I can remember sitting for hours with my grandma with hands up whist she wound skeins into balls. I was never allowed to do the balls bit because I wound too tightly !!!
Anyway I went to the wool shop with a colour swatch and came home with lovely wool-- To be taken to Spain . But I could not resist trying it out and of course now have lots of lovely squares winking at me. I took the crochet work to the fracture clinic yesterday and people were looking and nudging each other- Obviously struck a chord !! DD2'S toe still ongoing !!
If you need any inspiration have a look at Attic24 -- absolutley gorgeous !!
Threre is another hour or two gone !!!
Right gentle thoughts and lots of love -- I must get onTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Thank you all so much for being so caring it means a lot :A
Kathy - Love the blog, your place in France looks wonderful, and I agree with (O dear I have forgotten who now)you dont look old enough to be a grand-parent. Yes thanks I did manage a few hours, I could have done with more though, I feel really tired today.
Chalky - I must have a look at your blog, I love taking a peek at other peoples lives.... and besides that.....I am nosy by nature:rotfl:
OrkneyStar - you are doing so well, the little hat is really cute. When you replace the Sainsbury bag with a box, just make sure its a BIG one, if you are anything like the rest of us you are going to need it :D
mrsmoneypenny - the blanket is lovely and what a nice story about the initials
f1widow - how did DS get on at school today???
It is so sad to hear of the death of Patrick Swayze, some of his films were a must see for all romantics, Dirty Dancing and Ghost were my all time favourites.
Also of Keith Floyd the most eccentric and most travelled cook in the business.
I have finished the ruffle scarf, I did an extra row though as it seemed a bit narrow, I am really pleased with it.Will take a pic when I have some more stuff to send off.
I need to finish a couple of things I have on pins and want to do a few more IS hats to hit my target.
Really must get myself sorted, the last week or so I have been all over the place.
Anne
