That hedgie pattern is so popular, isn't it?

Linda - the puppy is gorgeous. I'm sure he'd like a hedgie of his own!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

Not too bad here today, sun was shining so got lots of washing done and hung out - all dry - and added to my mountain range, or maybe not, most of it belongs to DD so SHE can have her very own mountain in her room. :rotfl:
Kathy , you were right, DGS`S hat was ready and waiting when they came in this morning - you should have seen his little face - he was WELL impressed with Grandma. Of course his sister has now decided she wants one, so I let her see all my bags & boxes of wool. After much
thought, she decided she wanted purple and white. Now I have white and lilac, pink, blue red, yellow, turquoise etc etc etc........ but no bloomin` purple !! Would you believe it - I`m going to have to go to the wool shop, dash it, what a boring chore. My least favourite pastime
Oh well, I suppose I`ll just have to grin and bear it - the things we have to do for the grandchildren eh ??

Off to do some surfing for Jean Greenhowe`s rainbow babies pattern - I have it saved in my favourites on my own computer, but it died on me the day of Jim`s funeral so has to go and see the `puter doctor, so I`m using a borrowed laptop at the moment which seriously restricts my browsing activities.

Back later if I get the chance.

Chalky: What a beautiful puppy! I had a springer/border collie cross for my first dog, and my nephew has one which is a working dog (he helps out at the local shoot).

Have your daughter wrap a hot water bottle in a blanket (not too hot), and put it in his bed along with a ticking clock. The ticking reminds them of their mother's heartbeat and the hot water bottle the warmth of her body. It can give them real comfort until they get used to their new home and family.

Hi Linda, I try to be, it`s easy with the two I see regularly - a bit more difficult with the other three as they aren`t around too much although they all live within 10 miles of me. (they see much more of my ex.husband - family divide and all that)

Try not to have favourites tho`

Thanks for the link to the rainbow babies Lorna, found your post just after I`d printed the pattern off. Typical.

Grrrr. Just noticed 2 of the early pages haven`t printed properly, yet all the rest are fine. Tried again and the same happened - it`s as if the printer is running out of ink - yet the later pages are OK, maybe a problem with the pattern ??

    Good morning all.

Elaine - I just knew you'd have the hat ready 'cos I'm a granny, too, and it's what we do! I'm so sorry you have to drag yourself into the wool shop; what a dreadful chore!

LC - lovely advice for the puppy!

Well, I don't think I'm going to have enough wool left to complete the cardie I'm making for the baby, so it will have to be a waistcoat, I think! Although, as it's multi-coloured wool, I may be able to pick one of the colours out for the sleeves! I'll see what I can do.

I'll catch up with you all later.

    Mornin all

just having my wake up coffee and daily free pattern browse, first one I look at is this:

    408.jpg

    http://www.free-crochet.com/

Isn't it sweet - I wondered if the hat could be suitable for the LH challenge; I've had a quick look at the pattern and I think its easily adjusted - what do other crocheters think?

I've a "must finish" by mid August blanket on top of my pile now so, I've saved the pattern and will have a look sometime in the future.

I had a good day with Mum yesterday - brought her home for lunch + coffee and cake, she enjoys it and most of all a proper cuddle with the dog!

Time for more coffee - 'bye for now

    luv

morning all, lovely to see you posting again elaine,
my sons think toys can be knitted in a day, and every time i get a new knitting magazine, josh picks a toy out of them to be done today lol.
finally worked out how to knit with dpn's after a lot of explaining from a patient friend of mine. for anybody struggling with 4 dpns, i really suggest looking for a set of 5, so much easier, especially after the first couple of rows, just got to make sure the stitches arent twisted.
been busy looking on ebay this morning for exciting bright coloured stripey sock yarn to add to my ever increasing stash :o
hugs to all those that need one
