    Part of the Furniture
Kathy - spot on ;) I have just had a read through the whole totals and I am amazed how much we have all achieved, and its still only July :T

ISOM - just had a look at the link, what lovely patterns, its in my favourites now so I can have a proper look later

Shelley - glad you are feeling better now, I have a parcel with buntings and vent hats in, I will post them off tomorrow. Well done with the decorating

DON - the vent hats are quite easy and quick to do but remember to do the flap first, I kept forgetting when I first started doing them, so now I do half a dozen at a time. Its useful for using all the bits of wool up as well, they look quite good with hat one colour and the flap a different one.

Better go OH wants a cuppa, hes been washing his car, and if I make him a coffee he might do mine :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

It's just taken me an hour to read all the posts on here and I'm sure I popped in yesterday morning too.
Chalky the photo's of all the squares are fab, posted mine this morning so hopefully they will be with you soon.
All the links to patterns are brill, have printed some of the patterns for the little xmas hats, sooo cute.
I showed the link to the wooden skittles to DH, he just rolled his eyes at me.
ISOM that is such a shame when you were doing so well on your shawl, I find going back to a pattern after a few weeks sometimes helps.
    Take care all.x

Glad to hear your diabetic review went well,
I think I have mentioned that my DS2 was diagnosed aged 9 yrs
After 7yrs of fighting with the medical profession (yet again) who performed every test under the sun,
But oooops, NOT a simple test for sugar argh.gif
Then my OH was diagnosed with type one at 39 yrs
After being told not to worry about his 2 stone weight loss huh.gif
Good to hear you are ok after the bump in your car
I know what you mean about feeling sorry, when they have to py so much for their insurance and they are decent young people
My DS2 is on my insurance for that reason
    funny-pictures-joy-water-elephant.jpg
I hope it all gets sorted out quickly
My daughter was in an (no fault of hers), serious accident over 3 yrs ago
Which left her in a wheelchair for 6 mths and with permanent damage, especially to her ankle in which the bone was completely crushed?
The other drivers insurers have been a nightmare and still haven’t paid out ....
despite the other driver instantly admitting it was her fault and being prosecuted for driving with undue care & attention
Anyway that’s enough of my waffling on about my stuff,

Lucky you with 9 lovely horses to look at all week
You can use citronella to keep the flies away!
re ‘just looking at those poor little ones with running noses and no clothes or shoes just makes me want to cry - it also makes me realise just how lucky I am.’
I so agree ....... and I think it’s obscene that so many people have more money than they could ever spend and that they are doing things like sending rockets into space, when we haven’t even explored our own planet properly, especially the oceans.
That people on this planet are still starving is a total disgrace,
oooh I better shut up now, as man’s inhumanity to man & all living creatures, their war mongering and greed just makes my blood boil:mad:
Please will you bare with me a little longer to read a few of my favourite quotes ... thanks

‘If the Earth were only a few feet in diameter, floating a few feet above the ground, people would travel from everywhere to marvel at it.
People would walk around it, enchanted by its big pools of water, the little pools of water and the water flowing between the pools.
People would gaze with wonder at the bumps on it, the holes in it, and the thin layer of cloudy gas which surrounds it. The people would marvel at the creatures moving around the surface of the ball, and the creatures swimming in the water. The people would declare it precious because it is the only one and they would protect it so that it would not be hurt.
The ball would be the greatest wonder ever known and people would come to behold it, to be healed, to gain wisdom, to know beauty and to wonder how it could be.
People would love it and defend it with their lives, because they would somehow know that there could be nothing without it.
If the Earth were only a few feet in diameter…… ‘ -- Joe Miller

‘The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.’ —Calvin and Hobbes

‘The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way animals are treated.’ —Mahatma Gandhi

‘The sun, the moon, and the stars would have disappeared long ago... had they happened to be within the reach of predatory human hands.’ —Henry Ellis

‘What is the nature of a species that knowingly and without good reason exterminates another?’

sure there would be uproar at the mere mention of banning your thoughtful and lovely posts maytaurus...
I have learned a valuable lesson...do not buy a book until you are sure you can knit the patterns!! disaster #2...scarf pattern also complicated but good thing is mum will buy the maroon wool so no financial loss at least...now just have to take all the beads off! Will try and do a cupcake for a friend who could do with a hug and then an easy peasy charity thing or two!

Didn't get there today Chalky - tomorrow I promise! I have a long list of stuff to do but only one child to appease tomorrow.
Good to see you back Maytaurus.
I'm slowly whittling down my stash and now I'm starting to worry that I'm getting low on the fab Aldi baby wool :rotfl:. It was such a bargain though...
Off to look for patterns for my Olive green Aldi wool, not feeling up to knitting this evening.

    Hi All
    Have been surfing again :o
Found a lovely pattern for a knitted stole
    http://queerknits.blogspot.com/2008/08/new-pattern-simple-elegance.html
The instructions say CO 97 and then gives further instructions and then says there are 3 k stitches that you need to do but are not written into the pattern.
Would someone kindly have a look and explain in daft persons language? I see that someone has asked the same question on the blog but the pattern writer hasn't replied.
Sorry - I feel like I'm being really demanding at the moment, nothing but questions!
