Having a mild (crochet related - don't worry) panic - can anyone help? I saved a link to a lovely blanket a while back which I think was a free one from Annie's Attic. It was white and purple squares and had butterflies crocheted on some of the white squares. The other night I sorted out my favourites menu and now I can't find it - I've either put it somewhere really safe electronically speaking or I've deleted it . Would anyone have saved a copy of the pattern? I was hoping to make it for a Christmas pressie for someone.0

Hi K2Tog,
Yep - I got a copy - pm me your email & I'll send it. Its US terms - do you need it translating? (not a big job)

Nothing like a bit of teamwork! Popped on to report shawl disaster...realised that I had somehow managed to increase in abundence so made the difficult decision to undo it all...will do a scarf instead for now and start again later the year for the shawl...feel gutted but also want it to be right!
Great that you found the pattern...I had a look but couldnt find it!

Pam - have PMd you :A
Thank you for looking ISOM. Sorry to hear about your shawl. I have definitely been there and I expect everyone else has a knitting tale of woe, big or small. Don't let it knock your confidence, maybe try something little and cheery until you aren't so gutted about it. How is Ferg's jumper coming on? Is that Weezl's little one?
Sorry Pam forgot to say, should be Ok with the US terms - I prefer UK but should be able to get my head around it. American English indeed!0 -
K2 - sent email before I read this post so pattern is still in US terms - just remember
US = UK

ISOM sorry about the shawl - can you link to the pattern you're using? (nosy gene - again) I have a couple of projects "resting" 'cos they got on top of me - often they/I just need a rest!
I recommend baby hats - they are my ultimate rescue/respite knit!
(hugs)

Hi everyone.
Pam - great patterns. I love the penguin skittles and I would like to make a set for my grandchildren to play with. Thank you so much for the links. I'm sure Roamin will find something there for the skittles she wants!
Thanks for all your totals. I will try and update today, probably this afternoon. I have a busy morning of phone calls, letters to write and errands to run - including buying some plumbing equipment. Why DH has asked me to get that, I don't know - and in French, too! He's finished laying the new laminate floor in the downstairs bathroom; it looks really good, but, having taken the sink out, we discovered that the flexible pipes were leaking slightly, so he wants to replace them. Still, I shall see what I can find in the shops. He put the sink back but not for using until he's replaced the parts; so, what did I do this morning, but run the taps - water all over the new floor. I wiped it up and he didn't notice!
I've finally finished the second sleeve on the cardi for the new baby - I shall sew it up and do the neckband today, hopefully, then make a few more baby things for Shelley. I shall probably post them all together once I am back in the UK, I think. Hopefully, I'll have a few more things done by then.
We still have to decide when to sail back. The baby is due on 15th August, and DIL's midwife says she thinks she'll have the baby on time or possibly later. I'd rather spend the bulk of the time there after the baby is born, rather than before, but we'll have to decide on a date soon.
LC Wilson - do your needles ever stop? You must wear them out with all the knitting you do! Well done on your fantastic totals.
Jean - I hope you're finding some 'me' time.
Elaine - sending lots of (((hugs))) to you.
Maytaurus - I hope you are OK. We miss hearing from you. Take care.
Well, I'd better get on, I suppose.
Hope you all have good day. I can see on the TV that the forecast is pretty grim over there; I hope the rain clears up and you start to get a bit of summer soon.

morning everyone, just back from france and it has taken me hours to read all of the updates. for all those who have ill or poorly relatives (or are ill themselves) best wishes to all of you and loads and loads of hugs - i am thinking of you.
well, it was quite a shock to come back to this weather after a glorious week in france where it was too hot to sunbathe until about 5pm! roaming and mioliere, you will be envious (a bit a first) - we had 9 horses in our "garden" all week, and they are going to be there till october. they are the mobile mowing service that our neighbour is offering for the summer. however .... the one thing that people seem to forget (people being another name for ME!) the poor horses are covered in flies and these find the house much nicer than sitting on the horses all the time - so there are ups and downs regarding the lovely horses!
other than that - i was not very good, i wrote a list of work in progress and then proceeded to start two more things (i ran out of wool with each of them, so will have to purchase more in order to finish them) to add to said list - i think i have about 10 things on the list. i really must finish a couple of them soon.
the things that i started were the oxfam jumpers - can anyone tell me why the patterns only have half (or three quarter) sleeves - if it is a winter jumper, shouldn't the sleeves be long?
anyway, when i got home and had a look at my e-mails, i read the most recent from Sandy at Knit a Square - and those really do pull my heart strings. i am going to have to finish some of the squares and get them (and the oxfam jumpers) posted to south africa some time soon. just looking at those poor little ones with running noses and no clothes or shoes just makes me want to cry - it also makes me realise just how lucky i am. i may not have all the things that i want, but i have all of you, a roof over my head and the time and patience to try to help people like that!
have a wonderful day everyone, and remember, it may be grey and cool and raining, but at least we dont have a lack of water and a drought!

Welcome back, DPixie. I hope your visit went well. It's a shame that horses come with flies, isn't it? There's always a downside. Still, it must be lovely having so many close to hand!
