Hi everyone.
Maytaurus - Thanks for all those horses! Thanks for the info about Mason's. Some lovely bargains there, especially with the wool.
Well, I didn't even get to sit down properly last night. We had late dinner because DH was late home from work. By the time we'd finished and cleared up, it was almost bedtime.
Well, I am really hoping to get all my work done this morning and have the afternoon off for some crochet. I won't have much time over the weekend, because, tomorrow, we're helping friends of ours set up for their annual vide grenier (car boot sale without the car boots!), then Sunday is the sale itself. We'll probably stay the night there on Sunday, so that we can have a glass or three.
I shall have another 'chat' with 'my' horse later. After she let me stroke her, she galloped off down the field, then found a yellow feed bucket and decided to play football with it. I've never seen her do that before, so I'm rather hoping she put the show on for me! She doesn't even gallop much anyway; she's very relaxed. I've never seen anyone riding her; I asked the farmer if she rides her and she said the horse is 'pour les yeux' - 'for the eyes', which I think is lovely - she's there just for looking at! She's a great time-waster.
Well, I'd better stop mioliering and get on with some work.

bonsoir!! Hot here but less stormy...back is killing me and its either a change in work chair or knitting...re the shawl its gonna be a while! Disaster this am...dotty cat has been eyeing up the knitting and managed to get it out of its bag so I was wlecomed this am with wool/knitting strewn accross the room but thankfully still on the needle! Dotty has had a stern talking to and on I go....! Congratualtions on anniversaries and thanks for the book links...my mail weakness along with anything crafty! Did find a lovely pattern for a wool bag to felt but alas...its not dottyproof so has an open top and would be much too fun for her!

Hi peeps - just found out on a Ravelry thread that Annies Attic have stopped the daily free pattern. However here are a couple of other sites that are part of the group.
http://www.free-crochet.com/
http://www.free-knitpatterns.com/?source=036FKP
They both have free pattern of the day features as well as loads of patterns.
Here are two other sites I check regularly
http://www.dailycrocheter.com/day.php
http://www.dailyknitter.com/day.php
These sites offer patterns from all over t'internet and I've visited some smashing blogs via these links.
'bye for now

Thanks for all those links, Pam. I shall have a good browse now!
In Search of Me - hope your back gets better. I had a cat years ago who completely mangled a ball of wool and the almost-complete baby jacket I was making. I couldn't believe how much he was enjoying it, too - he was purring like mad. Needless to say, I have never left knitting on the floor again; not even now, and I don't have a cat!
Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Hello to you all- "oldies " and " newbies" Hope you are all well.
Well have had a lovely day out in Exeter. So many bargains and to be honest wonderful service. DOH wedding suit was a bit of a disaster ( but nobody else would have noticed) We really do try and live our life honestly and not only did it have strands of the finest lycra like threads coming out of the Black Suit it looked really creased. So we really did not think it was right for the job. Without 1 word he was given a total refund. I was really impressed.
I am still knitting the log type squares from the operation lineus project.
We were supposed to be going to the Lake District in the Sunshine Bus but the weather forecast is pants so I think we shall postpone it for the time being
Gentle thoughts to all those feeling a bit below par and lots of jummping jacks to all those celebratingTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
fantasic news for your family lucie :j, think i'll have a lager to celebrate for you
i dont have cats, but i have kids, and today one of them pulled my knitting off the needles cos he was having a strop, had just started on a sock on 4 needles, and had done about an inch of the rib, could have killed him, havent got the heart to try again today.
hope the back gets better, in search of me
chalky, they should have provided a suit suitable for the occasion, glad they gave you a full refund without any hassle
hugs to those that need one
shaz xenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Thanks for the pattern linkies! Re the cats the knitting was in a large bag and she fished it out...and there was me saying she is dull (actually she thinks shes a dog...growls and guards when someone knocks and plays fetch with toy mice!!)...
Re the back its the kntting - have done a few rows and can really feel it. Can anyone advise with a comfy knitting posture/way to ease it...have got to plough on as its cousins bday in a month and I've got about 40 inches left to do!!! ?Not sure the "you'll knit it up in no time" was accurate lol!!
Also does anyone have a pattern for knitted cakes/toys?!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Got a book somewhere about knitted cakes-- will rout it out in the morning abd get back to you with the details
Thanks Shaz -- you are so right but its really nice when things go well and you arent left feeling like a real sad person when you are totally in the right.
Night night. Morning Kathy !!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

In Search Of Me
I’m afraid I haven’t really got any advice about knitting & your back ...
You may remember I have the same problem ...
so now I crochet, which is a lot less strain on my neck, shoulders & back
I hope your problem is only temporary & soon goes away!
Perhaps your cat is just trying to join us & do some knitting?

‘My latest booties’
‘This is on my needles now’
There are lots of knitted cakes/toys free patterns throughout the thread, but here’s some
