morning
Its hot and sunny again here today,
Not much on my update this week will hopefully do better next week
I have a few things on pins and hooks at the mo, I will finish a couple off on the journey down tomorrow.
Kathy - I tried to get the free pattern up yesterday but it would'nt work for me, goodness knows why
psso - Hope all goes well I am thinking of you and OH today ((hugs)) x
Had a look at the Linus project blankets and quilts, I have 2 boxes full of fabric and fat quarters from when I used to do patchwork so I might make a machine patchwork quilt. I had to give up the hand sewing, Patchwork, cross stitch and tapestry a few years ago because of the arthiritis, I could'nt feel the needle and could only work for a short time.
WM has finished doing its stuff and needs hanging out so better get a wriggle on
Anne

going to a knit and knatter group this afternoon, which just meets once a month in castleford, bout 15 miles from me.
off to the wool shop that is there too, as i need some more to finish off a jumper that i've been doing on and off for myself, rather knit small stuff. hope i can resist the temptation to buy more than i need, as i have a massive stash in the loft, that will last me a few years

My Grannie used to wet a proper hanky in cold water and then tie them around her wrists - obviously one hanky one wrist - and in the winter time she used to wrap a wee silk scarf round each wrist - saying that if the pulse points were HOT/COLD then your hold body was hot or cold, I just thought she was mad but worth a try don't you think?
Maytaurus - my cousin who had SAD saw my daylight bulb (craft light) in my work light and went and got herself a few from the craft shop, she replaced a couple of lamps in the living room and one in the kitchen and she said that works wonders for her, instead of having to sit infront of the proper SAD lights (which cost a bomb she says - we are Scottish so no idea of what she classes as extortionate),
Having a quiet day today - we had a huge thunder storm overnight and no electric for about 5 hours but its all back on now. Hope you are all keeping fine and dandy, will get back a bit later.

Hi all - hot & sticky - try this one, sounds daft but it works, take a piece of kitchen towel - wet it & wring it out - stroke gently around your EARS!
When out & about I use wet wipes or a bit of the handwash gel stuff.
be back later,
luv

RE;’ have you tried one of the special lamps you can buy? Might be worth thinking about, especially as the UK has lots of gloomy days.’
I have an Apollo Golite with blue spectrum wavelengths & it really does help, I also have the dawn alarm clock
Info for peeps
I know they are not cheap, but I really do recommend them if anyone thinking about getting one ... and ALWAYS shop around for the best price.
I bought mine direct from America as I got it when it first came out
You have to be careful when buying lamps etc, as there are lots on the market which are useless ( & not all cheap either) info here;

thanks for the info on daylight bulbs
See above info for your cousin and you can also tell her that because of their outstanding energy efficiency. The goLITE P1 and the goLITE M2 run at 9.9w and a twenty minute treatment would cost approx 0.03p per day

Maytaurus - thanks for all the info. You work really hard on behalf of all of us, looking for a;; sorts of things, and pictures to go with them! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say how wonderful you are! I don't get S.A.D. but I am affected by light levels and I'm really fussy about getting the light right, especially for knitting and reading. I think the right sort of light is really important and can have such an effect on people.
The farmer has moved his beautiful horse into the field right next to my garden; I've spent the last hour getting to know her. She came right up to me and let me stroke her - I am so pleased, it's really made my day. I hope he keeps her there.
Have a great evening, everyone.

morning everyone, dull and cloudy here today, but feels much cooler.
thanks for the info on the masons website maytaurus, i had a quick look, and they had the king cole zig zag sock yarn, at 3.99 a ball, cheapest i have seen it, saved it to fav's.
already have a ball of zig zag that i paid more than that for, a friend is going to show me this afternoon, how to knit on four needles, if i cant do it, i'm going to get a small circular needle to do it on, i will make myself some bright funky shops. having big fet, i'm limited to wearing mens socks, which can be boring lol.
hugs
