    Hello everybody :hello:

    I'm back again.
We had a lovely time in Poole with the family, and the grandchildren were an absolute delight.
DGS was a bit wary at first but he soon got into the swing of things, he's never been on holiday before and we were a bit worried he might find it all too much....how wrong were we.....he loved it and was as good as gold.
DS2 and DIL even took him swimming to the indoor pool, he looked so cute with his little arm-bands on and his bob the builder suit.
I took loads of photos for his life book and DS1 took a short video of him with the girls, they all had a great time.:j

DIL told me when they took the papers in to the court, the judge asked to see DGS in her chambers, she said how well he is doing and how much he has filled out and grown in the short time they have had him.
Just got to wait for September now when it goes back to court for the adoption to go through.:D

Back to earth now for a bit. I didnt do much knitting/crochet while I was away, but have started vent hats and carried on with the 2nd ripple blanket I started before I went away.
When I've finished it I will start a baby ripple blanket as I have a few nice pastel colours in my stash.

I really must stop buying wool, but its sooo hard.
Chalky - I have sent your thoughts to my sister I hope you don't mind I know she will appreciate it. It made me :rotfl:but how true, and what I want to know now is Jean is the barn retreat ready for us yet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:sounds just the job to me;) do you want us to bring loads of wool:A
Kathy - Glad things are settling down a bit for you now and the weather has started to behave itself. Have you taken a pic of your ripple blanket yet? I have got to do mine then I will put it on the Wooligan site, if I can remember how to do it, its not so straightforward as my other laptop was
mrs-moneypenny - your boys sound lovely, and it looks like they really enjoyed themselves
TightAs - Must go back and find the photos, so many pages since I went away

WELCOME to all the newbies you will love it here the natives are really friendly :rotfl:any probs just ask there's always someone here to help :D

I am hoping to have a good knit tonight, funny how you miss it when you dont do it for a while ;)

better go put the rest of the washing out, its all go here today

Hi Heldun - good to hear from you. Having suffered the GSCEs, the A-levels and two degrees, I know exactly the strain you are all under! My DS1 is starting a Ph.D in September, running alongside his work. He gained his B.Eng, then his Master's Degree at university, and could have gone for his Ph.D straight after, but he wanted to get out and start earning. He's been very lucky in that his employers want him to do it now, so he's finally going for it. I hope your two get the results they want.

Pippa - so glad you had such a good time. Your DGS sounds as if he is really doing well, and is obviously a real part of the family. I shall take some photos of my blanket tomorrow, and put them on the Wooligans.

Well, back to work - although it's difficult because my window looks out on the neighbouring farmer's fields - he has some newly-born calves there and they behave like spring lambs, hopping and skipping all over the place. They're very entertaining.

PAM - YOU ARE A STAR!!!! Yes i know i am shouting, but i want to make sure that you hear it all the way from london.

thank you - i know what i am doing over my lunch break (i ensure that i work in the mornings and afternoons, just to makes sure that i dont get too obsessed!)

Many thanks once again, you are brilliant, and although i get along with the american terms, i dont always understand what they are saying, if you know what i mean.

Hi everyone, Hope you are all well.

I've not had chance to get on here for a few days, where has the week gone?

Welcome Paulabear everyone is really friendly here and you will feel at home in no time.:D

Pips mum - Don't worry about asking questions, I've been knitting on and off for years and still have brain fade at times. That's just me and my frazzled brain though.:o

I've been feeling a bit grim lately, I wish the weather would sort itself out I've been really affected by it this year. Its bright here today but a bit chilly. I could do with a few weeks of warm sunny days.

I've been soaking up all the ((hugs)) from you all, so I'm sending lots back today(((((HUGS)))))

    Take care all, xxx

Hello Chums first time on the knitting forum I wonder if anyone can help. One of my granddaughters Katie who is 16 suffers dreadfully with very cold feet, and wants me to knit her some funky bedsocks .I am looking for a nice easy uncomplicated pattern that I could do for her.
I'm sure some of you may have some ideas on here I normally knit for the Linus projest and make blankets for them so I want something that isn't too difficult and quick ,probably in double knitting for warmth.Even though its summer her feet are always cold

    Hi everyone
Hope all are well and happy.

Welcome Paulabear-- Nice to have you with us.

Tightas- The wedding photos are great. I hope you are a bit calmer than I was the week after our sons wedding.

Psso --- the chalky mess -- I have plenty of that !!

PippaS-- So glad GS has settles so well, you sound such a lovely family.

jackieo-- Remember you from the Daily thread. Hope you find some funky socks

I have been to the wool shop today and bought some special wool for a friends baby which is expected in early November. I have found a gorgeous pattern from the Patons Roses and Posies book so that is going to break the hedgehog obsession !! Oh yes it is. This week I have started 3 lap blankets in different colourways in crochet but if I relax the needles are back in my hand and a little snout appears !!

We are away this weekend so will take my wools etc but will not be on here so have a good weekend everybody.

Lots of hugs to anyone feeling fragile and celebrations to all the celebratory ones !!!
Try and do a good deed every day.
