Goodmorning Peeps- lots of lovely sun already, I will have rain at the weekend so you can get the sunshine in the UK. I can't help it if I like the snow – born in the depths of winter in a blizzard didn't help – too much information I fear.
Love the pictures MAYTAURUS, you just keep them all coming, they brighten a lot of peoples days.
You are so right about GRANNIES – their whole reason for being is to spoil the grandchildren unashamedly, with no strings attached.
PRFUNGI – if I could just get some time to practice the crochet stuff I would love to have a go at that pattern for the bedcover – mind you it would have to get in line with all the other jobs I WANT TO DO
GILLYPEP – welcome and well done for a parcel away already, great stuff
MIOLIERE- Oh you have a shock coming to you..................just make sure you don't try the home made OH DEERIE ME (l'eau d' vie) a brandy type jet fuel transformed from cider into spirit – certainly clears the sinus tracks. Note- I have never yet seen or come across skip hire, so it looks like you will just have to load up a trailer and take it to the tip yourselves, and don't they love to leave you all their exciting RUBBISH to clear away – think it took us about 7 years to get rid of it all – mind you the man at the tip knows us now. Glad the tommies got planted – just remember to water now, have you got rain water barrels?
F1WIDOW – off course you can come and play with the trains........but can you wait till I clear the barn and set them all up again, don't hold your breath on that one, yep that's my barn on the wooligans photo's page, I am awaiting Mioliere to stop being so frightened of spiders and get in and get a photo of her barn for comparison – if she clears hers first I will be very miffed.
SHEZMIT – just a thought what about - bunting/lacey bunting/pattern bunting - ? Wouldn't that do the trick?
PURPLE TEDDY BEAR – hope to see your pattern when you crack the final one, hope DD had a better sleep last night – lets you all have a much better rest.
K2TOG – I use Suzannes pattern for the washables. I work on the production line method – lots of cutting out, then sewing in order. My patterns are on cardboard and I slap it down onto the towel cut loads out then take the same pattern and lay it onto some flannel so my sandwich is flannel-towel-flannel (when I run out of flannel I will use cotton) I then do the quilting over the sandwich – pile them all up and lastly I do the edges on them all, the next job on the sweat shop production line is the outers which I again have a cardboard pattern for (saves pins etc) I do the two long edges first – zig-zag or overlocker all of them, then I fold them do the top and bottoms in straight stitch and finally overlock/zig-zag them. My DH then does the quality control for me and slings back anything that he thinks might come to bits. BECAUSE I do it in the barn I can make as much mess as I like – no one will notice! HA HA
MRS MONEYPENNY is also making then, perhaps she can give you her method and then you can see which you get on with.
Off to get another coffee – this is meant to be my morning break for breakfast and back out – tractor day today, but I will get some leisure time to do some knitting or sewing.
You all have a great day

Hi Jean - if I have to clear the barn myself, it will never get done! Besides some giant spiders we also get those 'eyelash' things - like centipedes; they race along at great speed and look pretty disgusting - especially when you splat them with a fly swat (which I can't do - DH has to do that bit!). I save him from wasps, hornets and bees, so he has to do the creep-crawly patrol for me! Luckily, we have a big trailer, so, in the absence of a French skip, that will do.
It was l'eau d' vie, by the way - I couldn't believe how strong it was; I only had one sip but DH liked it. He said he had a great night's sleep after having just a tiny glassful! I don't even think he snored!
Well, my hangover has almost gone. The sun is shining now but the forecast for the weekend is pretty dismal, so we'll have to make the most of it.
Anyway, I must get some work done this morning if I'm to treat myself to the afternoon off. I want to get some more crochet done. I must look for that lovely new bunting pattern.
See you all later.

Squares: 11, Animal blankets: 20 -
my sts are made by taking an oblong of towelling 9 1/2 inches long and folding it over 4 or 5 times to get the thickness so that it is about 3 1/2inches wide then i sew round it and add a backing of some fabric shelly sent me that looks slighty water resistant. my machine doesn't like it and i've lost a few needles along the way so i wouldn't really recomend my method:o
i got a lovely parcel of fabric off someone on LH today so im going to start making bags for the St sets next i think:jSPC~12 ot 124

Off to do a bit on my ripple blanket and sew up what I did last night.

I`ll get you to send me some when I have a stinker of a cold then !!;)
Re - BARN We`ll get a flight arranged (group booking rates cheaper ?) and come and clear your barn - we`ll expect free B&B o` course - then all go and sort out Kathy`s - I`m nae scared o` spidersbut I do draw the line at moosies :eek::eek:.
Now, I have something to :j about. If you remember, Pam posted the link to the ripple blanket -no, I haven`t done it. BUT I looked further down the blog (nosiness) and came upon the summer garden granny squares bit. Followed the straight forward instructions and
guess what - I managed to do it, and went round and round, did the circles, then made it into the square...........and like Topsy, it growed and growed ....and now I have a pink and white BLANKET !! :T Just gimme another wee while and some more practice and I MIGHT attempt the ripple one.

Hi everyone been so busy today that onl just catching up with you all.
Well all well here -- all still calm which is amazing as the numbers keep altering which mess up the beautifully laser cut tables seating plans !! I just keep very quiet and do exactly what I am asked.
DOH managed to surf this afternoon ---- needs certifying as it was absolutely freezing but it WAS DRY I managed to get a lovely walk by the sea which was beautiful.
I am still managing hedgehogs. I hope they are suitable for the boxes for Operation Christmas Child or that Loving Hands are going to want more Trauma toys as I seem to be accumulating a hoard of hedgies !! Still loads more eyelash wool in the freecycle bag.
Oh DDIL2B is cooking tea so I must go .
My very best wishes to you all and thanks for the kind wishes
f1widow-- hope things brighten up for you soon
PurpleTeddy - hope the chickenpopsicles are retreating !!!

Hi All
Totally shattered this evening - probably because of my late night last night:o so skipped project washables and will crack on with some more tomorrow. Jean, I enlisted DH in production line - he did some cutting while I stitched, then stood watching me and said (very helpfully) "you need an overlocker". I gritted my teeth and said "yes, love". So I'm very jealous of yours Jean but my minimal dabbling and lack of stitching talent really doesn't justify one.
Well done on the crochet psso and Shaz - I'm still doing more of that than knitting and have got the buntings well practiced now so they are getting quicker. I have not had much luck in the past with Granny squares - they never look like they should. Will have to persevere.
Glad you're having a good time Chalky - north Devon is lovely isn't it.
Off for shower and bed now. Night x0
