Mrs Moneypenny - so sad to hear the news. It's so unfair when it's a child, isn't it?

F1widow - it could be permanent, but wait till I post some photos of the barn before you give up your old life!!!

LC, I'm going to have to buy some Carte D'Or tomorrow! I shall post the pattern to my Mum, too. She'd love to make it.

I started to crochet a little pair of baby shorts -which I shall make into trousers to be more practical; it's a very simple pattern so shouldn't take long.

I shall try and gather up all the hats and booties I have lying around and get them posted off to you, Shez. I really must get more organised.

    Will call in later.

Pay day is officially going to be carte d'or day!!!

At the moment the barn can just have four supports and a tarpaulin - me need to escape :rotfl::rotfl:

I have remembered something I meant to ask weeks ago - I have a friend who knows ladies who are knitting baby vests (underwear not tanktop) like mad - she says she thinks they are doing it for a particular cause - has anyone heard of this?? - I am hoping to get the pattern - shezmit do the hospitals need vests for the babies?

Spaghetti tonight would rather be having ice cream me thinks!!!

hi all, am now back from france and following a false start or two, we now have a telephone installed. the house is still not painted, our painter had a car crash and has written off his van (with our paint in the back - all i can say is that the roads of toulouse will look very pretty). the up side is that the painter is okay and he has reordered the paint and is due to start again this weekend ... heres hoping.

i cannot believe how much chat there has been - most really lovely and some very sad stuff here, but, once again the glass is half full and we are all working towards such wonderful causes that it really makes my heart swell with pride knowing you all. however, as of today, i have officially been limited by friends and family to the amount of time i can spend speaking about you all - they only want to hear about you all for not more than 30 minutes a day - cheeky people.

must say that having my MIL with me over the last week was a bit trickier than i expected - she likes being entertained and doing stuff and cannot sit still for 5 minutes - i am grateful that she is in such good shape, but it does get rather difficult when i am trying to get the house into a somewhere comfortable.

oh well, off to do a bit of knitting while hubby is organising his rugby weeked (for the next two days) and then i will cook the dinner and sit down in front of the telly and knit a square or a bunting.

by the way, glad to hear that you are all well and a quick question for Lorna ... do you ever sleep? you knit like a machine, how do you do it?

    love and hugs

Chalky - you've not been wittering any more than I did last year! It's great to share your excitement. My fingers are well and truly crossed for a beautiful day. Well done on all those Brownies! Did you have to test them?!:D

DPixie - I'm glad France Telecom have finally installed your phone! Sorry about the other mishaps but France seems to lurch from one crisis to another. When do you think you'll be moving here permanently? Don't forget, you'll need an untidy barn to join the 'Untidy Barns in France' Club. Roamin in the gloamin is the founder member, and I've just joined it!

I agree with you about Lorna, by the way - her totals are staggering.
