Thank you Kathy, for the answer. You must be shocked, I think when you went offline I was still making exotic tangles and throwing hook and yarn across the room – I am now a happy hooker and doing less knitting and more crochet.
Pam, the colours in your blanket sound lovely. I’m going to do some more slanted shells when I finish my current bunting. Think you have to devote a project for your mum to atone for nicking her woolies!
Jaqui, I have been doing crochet buntings lately which are the pics on Shelleys site. Are you a relative newbie to “yarn arts” (tee hee) like me? I recommend giving crochet a whirl. I find it easier to pick up and put down and it suits my impatient nature as it is quick. I’m definitely a novice though! Made up a crochet IS hat today!
Wow Lorna, you’ve been busy again!
Chalky DD1 looks lovely – pretty dresses too.
Well, I’m off having babbled. I won’t post my update as it is very late and I’m sure poor Pam has enough to be going on with so will do 2 weeks update next week.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend x

HI everyone - I've just got back from a lovely weekend with friends who had arranged a 'Welcome to France do' for us. We had a great time but it meant I was MIA.

I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Chalky - what a fantastic photo and your DD is a real stunner! It looks like it was the most wonderful day. I'm sure your DS's wedding will be brilliant - it's not long now, is it? I remember how excited I was when my DS2's wedding was getting closer and closer!

Anyway, I've been MIA for too long and, sadly, I've been asked to do some work for someone tomorrow, so it will probably be Tuesday before I get back into some sort of routine with the thread. Pam (Prfungi) has sent me all the info so I can carry on with the update, but I hope you don't mind if I don't update until Tuesday - I don't want to do it in a rush, especially as Pam has done such a good job with it in my absence!

Anyway, I should be up early so I'll post - and catch up with the last couple of days posts - tomorrow, before I leave for my day's work!

wow your girls have put me to shame with your updates this week- you have all been so busy - I completely forgot (again!) to update
chalky - lovely dresses - such a gorgeous pink and all looking sooooo pretty

k2tog - thanks for that - yes I am a yarn art newbie! - its only the last few months I have ventured past flat and square items :rotfl: - my mum thinks I would like crocheting - bit spooky though because I am just like you - I get stressed with bigger things (started SANDS blanket but because it has been slow going it has been put at bottom of pile) - I like to see things grow quick - so maybe I should give it a go - this is going to sound completely dumb - can you use knitting wool then? (I can hear you ladies sniggering!!!:p:p)
shezmit - I have a huge apology I realised looking at your blog pics that I had sent you the buntings not finished (ie not sewn up) I am so sorry causing you more work - smacked wrists for me
aeshna - dont worry my mind is willing to gut the place but the body says no :rotfl:must buck my ideas up this week as we are doing a car boot on sunday (aggghhhh)

well I am off to watch video jug on how to "PSSO" and "Slp1"
Hope you have all had an enjoyable weekend - hugs to you all f1widow xxx

    1 square jumper
    1 IS hat
    3 buntings

Did a couple of purses too but not counting them because in the cold light of day, they're wonky . Seemed to be gaining stitches all the way up grrrr. Will have to have another look at them.

    Updating sig now

Hi Jaqui - you're brave! I haven't even attempted a SANDS blanket because I have seen all the faster knitters than me say it takes forever and I know my staying power is abit sus! I've had a cardi for me on the needles for weeks now and haven't done anything to it for a while - I blame the change in weather!
Yes, you can use knitting yarn. If you fancy a practice alongside the youtube vids or anything a 4mm hook and any old DK will do you. And there are plenty of proper knowledgeable crochet bods on here - not like me! Anyway, going to do a bit more of Pam's pattern blanket before going for a long soak.
