Hi everyone
I'm sorry I haven't updated for a while but things have been a bit hectic here and knitting's had to take a bit of a back burner.
Anyway, I'm not sure how we're updating anymore but I've just done a head countand I'm up to 78 smoothie hats. I've found an old camera so I'm going to try and take some pics for the Wooligans site, but me and technology have a very uneasy relationship so I'm not promising anything!
And well done to everyone, the totals are fantastic!
edited to say: Go me! I think I've managed to upload some photos to the Wooligans site, so there are some new pics in my folder for you to see. They're not the best photos but never mind!0 -
SHEZMIT - Im undertaking my first "boob" :-
a) am I right in thinking they get sent to you?
b) Would you like them "stuffed" or "flat" and if flat do you want base half stitched on with a fair length of yarn to complete ? Would you like a donation for stuffing ? (I feel guilty you have to "stuff" and provide stuffing - do you mind?)
Also how many squares in an "aaron" blanket ?
And are you still in desperate need for buntings?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions especially as you are feeling unwell (hope you are feeling a little better tonight) - jaqui xxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Boobs
can be unstuffed as i got stuffing here, No need for a donation for the stuffing,
Please leave a tail either on the bottom or on the side so i can sew up, If they are unstuffed its cheaper on postage costs
Buntings
we are always in need of these as we go through so many
Aaron Squares
i have been working on 16 squares per blanket
Any more questions please give me a shout
i still feel rubbish but i am trying to get some knitting done in between toilet roll duties with my nose:rotfl:

Evening all. ( oh dear, sounds like Dixon of Dock Green - showing my age now!!)
I thought I would try the `boob job` too, but I have a problem..........my 17 yr old Dd3 says " No way Mum, you can`t do that - that`s just not on!! Why the heck would you want to knit boobs anyway?? "
Sooooo, after much explaining about midwives, boobs, babies feeding, embarrassment etc.etc. she just shook her head. So now I have been banned from doing boob jobs when she is in the house, just in case she sees them.
Ah well - it won`t be tonight I start being a rebel anyway- I`ve a blue angel crib to finish first and a couple of buntings to sew up. ("morbid things " in Dd3`s opinion).

psso - yes I know exactly what you mean - my eight year old saw the instructions today and asked "Mum why are you knitting breasts?" I explained in "small terms" why I am doing so (he does not normally take much notice - he thinks knitting is embarrassing - took it to the park the other day his answer was "Mum just dont get it out here people will laugh at you and think you are odd, you are so embarrassing!"- am yet to admit to hubby what the pink item on my needles is ..........
shezmit - try Andrex with coco butter (?) I think thats what they were they are in a brown and cream packet and are a creamy coloured roll - they were sooooooo soft - I know Andrex does not sound very money saving but they were on special special offer and worked out cheaper than shop own brand - hope it stops running soon - please dont drip on knitting ha ha ps thanks for the answers to all my questions
By the way ladies if you want an offer at the moment somerfield have PG tips pyramids for 1.74 for 160 bags - now I thought that was a bargain !!! - I drink a lot of tea I can assure you and do like a nice cup - have tried value brands but dont like grey tea if you know what I mean
Sorry I have waffled there Im on the wrong forum with the above but I do like to share a bargain or two !!!!
love and hugs to all jaqui xxx
PS Thought the vaseline picture was well amusing !:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
To all you peeps for your interest, messages, good wishes & hugs

I am sorry to hear that you’re mum has M.S
Glad there was no serious damage done to your OH
It doesn’t surprise me in the least; that you had to wait 9 hours for a Neurosurgeon to look at his scans, or that there is only one team for the whole of South East England.
I quite understand you checking on him and worrying every time he nodded of or said he had a headache in my experience, (not just with myself, but with all the things I’ve seen over the years)the medical profession (& other professional bodies)don’t always convince you that they know what they’re doing & sadly it is often proven that they don’t.
I am glad that he is feeling better now
don’t forget it’s easier to type out your post in something like Microsoft Word, then copy & paste it on to M.S.E. you won’t keep losing it that way.

miserable and drizzly here - not the weather i need in the run up to the weekend. praying for sun on saturday.
didnt achieve much in the way of good causes knitting yesterday as i was mainly working on the sackboys. I stuffed and sewed DDs together and shes customised it for her BF. ill ask her to photo it and send me an email of the piccy before she gives it away. just got the one for DS gf to do now, that half knitted.
got to get the iron out today, the boys choir robes need ironing and returning for tonights service.
must find eldest DS something to wear for the walk on saturday -its fancy dress, youngest is sorted his sister got him a disney jack sparrow costume for his birthday.

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Maytauraus - thank you for your pic - so funny - you always make me smile - how you feeling???
Now another big help.............. I have done a "boob job" but the backing is causing major problem - I spent (dont laugh all you experienced knitters !) about 3 hours last night trying to "make one" and by the time I went to bed i felt like i wanted to "do one" - frustrated was an understatement ....... ha ha - I dont want it to put me off as I enjoyed doing it and finished it pretty quickly (other than the fact that I was a bit worried about the (looks round and whispers....) nipple - anyway does anyone do the backing different to the pattern ie in just plain knit or something???
Hope you are all well today - got up to rain - not amused as I had forgotton the washing on the line which when i went to bed last night was dry grrrrrrrrrr
Anyway this black and chrome thing keeps shouting at me from the kitchen drawer - "USE ME........." I think hubby said it was an iron and makes the clothes flat - I already have a cupboard I open, put the dishes in and water washes over them why cant I just put the clothes in the cupboard with this thing called an iron and they come out flat ........???????:p:p:p
To all those that have had the dreaded cold and bad throats hope you are all feeling better
Speak soon - love Jaqui xxxx
