hi all
Just waiting for plaster of paris letters to dry(!) and thought I'd have another delive into the stash of wool that belonged to my dear mum (can't quite believe it's been 18 months since she left us), and I've found 2 cones of 3ply wool. It's gorgeous wool and I would love to use it, but can't find any patterns to do anything with it!
Any ideas anyone - am sure there will be someone with more inspiration than me!
Many thanks in advance,
Dawn x:hello:0 -

I have a few old patterns using 3 ply. Not sure if you'd want them though, they are knitted on 11 and 13's!!
You could always double up the wool and see what tension it knits up to, it might make a nice quickerknit type of yarn.

hello lovely people...I feel I should join you! Weezl has taught me how to knit (casting off etc to follow!) and in the spirit of passing in on would like to contribute...for starters just easy squares but in time will try for more adventure! baby steps and all that! So some guidence please...am somewhat pooped so no energy to read through all now (have cakes to make) so could someone confirm that its ok if I cast on 40 stitches and do 8 inches in a multi col turquoise wool? Was planning on it going to older people - I love babies and animals but feel that lovely old people are much dismissed in our youth obsessed society...unsure which best to donate to for this? Can investigate but if anyone can pm me that would be great!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Hi everyone and welcome to In Search of Me - I hope you enjoy it here!
We're still ploughing through the packing and paperwork, and trying to get loads done today because we have visitors tomorrow. I have made a note of the last update I did, so that I can add all your latest items to it sometime tomorrow evening to bring it right up to date, but then, unfortunately, I shall be unable to update for two weeks, due to the move and the fact that I won't be back online until 26th.
I have packed some more wool that I found - I seem to have it hidden in lots of odd places - and I've packed a small supply of patterns, wool and needles for the journey. I shall be a passenger in the truck DH is driving with all our worldly goods in it next Saturday, to the new house, then we come back in the empty truck on the overnight ferry on Monday, stay the night with friends on Tuesday and then drive both cars back to France. It will be the longest journey I've done on my own, so wish me luck! DH has promised he'll stay in front of me; if I lose him I will end up 'Lost in France' as Bonnie Tyler says!
Anyway, I'll try and catch up with you later. Off to cook the dinner.
