Hi Pam, thanks for the link to the babydoll site - the pic is beautiful but that`s not the site I saw the "babies asleep" cribs on. It was on a preemies site maybe American ? and there were knitting patterns as well if I remember correctly. I`ve been trawling so many sites lately though that I maybe dreamed it up when I was asleep. The coverings were all sewn and lacy, not knitted - ideal for the non knitters.
That leaf pattern shown is like the one I made a blanket from for my two youngest kids (lol, 17 & 18 now ) it was made up of individual squares with a leaf motif in each, which were then all sewn up together *groan* Lovely when finished though.

Pam - Love the St Teresa thing, it sums up paying it forward doesn't it?
Hello Insearchofme what you've said shoud give you an 8"x8" square which will be of use to Loving Hands - there is a link to them on the first post. They send things to organisations looking after the elderly and are happy to get squares. the other organisation for the elderly that may (not sure) still be on the first post (OECS) are no longer taking squares, just completed blankets. They (Loving Hands) also welcome hats, mittens and scarves and shawls when you feel a bit more adventurous for the elderly.
Shelley, fraid I didn't get to the post office today because the weather was nice so we went out for the afternoon which was really lovely. I did however take a leaf out of knit-on-the-go Anne and finished a bunting and started another while we travelled (not for update yet kathy!). It was productive but some of the B roads made me feel a bit _pale_ :o better get some tips from Anne!
  • Elaine,
I saw it too........but having been back into every site and I still haven't found it. I really think I would be quicker just going and buying a tub of ice cream and making my own pattern, I expect I would have to eat the ice cream as well, oh its a hard life, I shall see if I have time tomorrow to knock something up (I prefer to sew rather than knit).
Kathy, MY DH said the same to me and guess what.....within 10 minutes of the ferry terminal no sign of him, he had the maps - (cos he said "off course girlies can't read maps") LIAR I proved him wrong by getting here an hour before he did. Oh it has just dawned on me perhaps he meant that to happen so that I got to make the tea, walk the dogs unpack all the car -am I dumb or what? I haven't been caught out since, so you make sure you have your own directions/maps/sat nav etc. Had another really good day with the knitting machine professeur yesterday and she has given me homework! I am in shock. 3 girlie calves - middle of the night job- so no knitting to add - I will try harder honest probably after a full nights sleep.

    Hi Jean

I doubt if I'd get there before DH - his navigation is great, mine is non-existent! I've told him, if I lose sight of him, I'm just going to stop - wherever I happen to be! Don't put pressure on yourself to knit, when you have so much else going on! How may calves is that, now? It must be loads.

The St Teresa thing is really lovely, thanks Pam!

Anyway, off to clear up a bit.

    See you later.

    Jean.

Phew, thank goodness someone else saw it and I`m not going doolally altogether. I`ve been all through my `history` on the `puter but it only goes back 3 weeks and with my luck it`ll have been a month ago since I saw it :rotfl:Hmm, I know what you mean about eating the ice cream to get the empty tub..............the things we have to do for charity eh? Might have a go at doing a knitted one - what size of ice cream tub do you reckon we will have to *empty* ?

    Hi everyone,:hello:

    Confession time....
after a really busy day sorting the 2 mums out and visiting a friend.....on the way home we passed ALDI, and errrm well I just had to go and have a look and came out with 4-100g balls of DK, 1 lemon, 2 white, 1 blue also 2- 400g balls Arran , goodness knows where I am going to put it all

All the time I was walking round the shop I kept saying I dont really need any more, but when a bargain is staring you in the face, well you have to dont you

MIL gave me a couple of balls of 4ply that she had found lurking in the back of her cupboard, so I will have to go search out a pattern now, I have a few somewhere, its just remembering where I tidied them away to ;)

anyway must go my sofa is calling me, enjoy the rest of your evening everyone

Most of the items I`m doing will be going to my local maternity hospital ( Aberdeen)for the Special Nursery tinies, but if someone can give me an address for Shelly, I`ll send some to her as well.
