Thought you might like to see my little group of girls (6-7yrs). Thought I'd start them early:D . I told them all about knitting for charity and told them if they managed ok they could knit some little squares. Started them on finger knitting - as you can see they are very pleased with their efforts.

I posted earlier but didn't get a reply so I'm trying again. You are all so friendly I'm sure you weren't ignoring me on purpose;) .

Somebody posted a new boob bottom (now that could be interesting:eek: )
It was a knitted one that was easier than the published one. Any help?

Maybe it was the one on the www.lcgb.org site - don`t know if it`s the same as the one on the LH site as I haven`t tried them myself. I dread to think what DH & DS2 would say if they saw me knitting boobs - :rotfl: .
Might have to try them when no-one else is at home.

PSSO they are really easy to knit once you get the hang of them and it doesn't really become obvious what they are till you start adding the nipple if you do them in 'flesh' colours. ive seen them in all sorts of different colourways so if you did wacky boobs people might just think you are knitting hats;)

craftlady thats a lovely photo, i wish you and them well in their knitting classes

why are people so judgemental?? Apparantly it's funny that I am a 21 yr old that knits!! Then when I tell them it's because of what you all do that inspired me to learn how to knit I get told off for being moody and having an outburst!!!

    ARGH - rant over sorry

  • Afternoon all

Sorry not managed to post much this week - it's been one of those weeks you really don't want to have, all started by the washing machine packing up mid-load on Monday. Rang engineers (phew for extended warranties!) and the earliest they can come is tomorrow (Friday). NOT GOOD when I have a 6 month old in "real" nappies, so I've had to resort to disposables for the interim which I am not happy about!!

Anyway, hopefully all will be fixed tomorrow at some point.

Have been a bad girl and been to Aldi this morning, although I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more wool until my stash has dwindled, I somehow managed to come home with a large 250g ball of baby wool in lemon, mint and white (so 3 more balls there), plus a DK pack of 5 100g balls in red and dark green/teal (so another 10 balls to hide there!). We tidied DS's toy box out over the weekend and replaced it with a good old IKea storage system with slidey boxes, so I now have the toy box as a wool box....it's a huge old pine blanket box and it's full!!! So full I have no more room in it, and there are cones and bundles behind it!! Oops.

Anyway, am in the midst of a lemon blanket, and heaven only knows how big it will be....

Mrs MP - have done some more chicckies and will get them off to you next week. Hope this is okay.

    Happy Thursday everyone,

    Dawn x

Aww....bless you. :A I think it's inspirational you learning to knit because you want to and for such a good reason. Just tell people that knitting is trendy (all the HOllywood celebs are doing it darling!) and I think I've read somewhere recently that knitting is good for the brain, memory and intelligence (or something).

    Maybe they're only jealous!!

You're fabulous, and your knitting is too! :T

    Much love,

    Dawn x

thanks dawn, I'm not going to give up, it just frustrates me. Why can't people have open minds about these things. It's not like I'm out on the streets stabbing people is it!
