Just posted a picture of my first ever knitting machine jumper onto the Wooligans site - I am so chuffed even tho' its only a 22" chest and it "hit the floor" on a number of occasions and the fact that the air was blue all day, I kept at it and got it finished last night. I even managed to use the Hague linker, which chain stitches the all the seams - well it did after I read the idiots guide on how to use it, managed to jab my fingers too into the bargain. Flushed with success I shall now go and try another one and this time see if I can do shaped neck and arms but I'm not promising.
Hope you all have a great day,
Jean in France

I rang a hospital to ask if they wanted baby stuff and I was told as long as they met certain size criteria, namely "not under 29 weeks - not very premature but not newborn - sort of middle size". What size does all this relate to?0

Pippa, I love those hedgehogs...........must go look that pattern out. Quite frankly I think I could learn Martian quicker than I am mastering the knitting machine, but being stubborn by nature I just will not give in. Trying the Teddies for Tragedies machine pattern this afternoon and its looking not too bad. I expect I will have to have a stop and do a bit of ironing shortly.......oh what a bore..........something to eat as well.

prfungi,
Think I make better pom poms than I do hand knitting - or machine knitting for that matter! I am just using up any wee scraps that are kicking about. I am tryiing not to have any that are the same but its difficult with the limited bits of DK wool I have, so some of them have fuzzy hairdoos with the mohair. ha ha

Oh poo, just spent ages typing in a load of waffle which you've been spared as my internet connection died just as I submitted it. Anyway, I've been catching up after a rather hectic multiple-birthday weekend (FIVE chocolate cakes, all gone  ) and thinking, as has been said many times before, what a lovely group we have gathered here, when Ding! a Nidea struck - how's about organising a meet-up at one of the Knitting and Stitching Shows this autumn? - London, Birmingham, wherever most people can do. Bit of a jolly to look forward to, and not too expensive if you book in advance. I went to Ally Pally a couple of years ago and it was FAB ( though I got a bit carried away in the irresistible bargains department - oops.) Of course, we'd have to inveigle our offshore contingent over somehow - hmm, not sure the prospect of our company can compete with Spanish sun, French wine etc....we'll just have to pile on the emotional blackmail. Well, gang, what do you think?Ginny

Sorry I haven't updated in a long time - life keeps getting in the way of everything fun at the moment. Anyway, I'm up to 60 smoothie hats. I've decided that I'm going to try at least beat last year's totals.
I've also got four half-finished teds so I MUST get round to stitching and stuffing them soon. They're all laid out on the dining table and they're making me feel horribly guilty lol0
