still working on my first square, according to my gran I keep going wrong lol
She Kindly bought me a big ball of bright pink wool which I am going to try and knit a scarf with for my step sister. She also got me two patterns froma charity shop at about 40p each (One is the Bertie Bassett Liquorice man hehe) and a pair of shorter needles.
Went to B&M in Gainsborough and got three balls of the wool that some of you have been using, so will be practising with squares.
Does it matter if the squares are just plain, block colour? I can't do anything fancy yet lol*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -
S-Michaels - the squares can be any colour, plain or fancy. Block colour is fine! Good luck with it all - very soon it will all just click into place and you'll wonder why you thought it was difficult!
Well, although I should be doing some more packing, the wool shop is beckoning me so I'm going to treat myself to a trip there this morning to get get some more DK and baby wool.

Kathy - i just walked past the wool shop, but didn't stop in as i have discovered that i have 2 large boxes of wool in my room - a little more than i thought - heck no, it was a shock. so i have told myself that i have to reduce the number to 10 balls of wool before i can buy any more!

DPixie - as I'm moving abroad, I don't know yet where all the wool shops are! I shall panic if I don't find one! I need to find out if Kemps deliver overseas, and the shipping costs, but I shall be coming back in August to meet my new grandchild due that month, and will stock up again then if I haven't found one in France. I shall be homesick and missing the family dreadfully, and knitting will help to make it easier, I'm sure. You're very good to have walked past your wool shop - I'm not sure I could do that!

Good Morning all - washing up done, laundry underway so I'm settling down for an hours knitting before I go to visit my Mum. Hands clean and pinny on so back to my little blanket. (yes pinny ON - keeps the pet hairs off my knitting & dog always sulks when she sees it as it means no cuddles)
regards

pam - you have shamed me into putting a load of washing into the machine. oh well cant complain as the laundry basket is now empty and i feel like a domestic goddess (just as well i dont have my glasses on otherwise i would see all the dust!)

Afternoon all. Nothing to update with today. We had visitors this weekend complete with 2 year old - so not much knitting was done. I did manage to finish the back and sleeves of the cardi I started, and managed to get a start on the front, so not much more to do. Hopefully more knitting will be done this week, but have visitors again this weekend (but no 2 year old)There's also a pile of washing and ironing that I must make inroads into, I've been putting the ironing off for a while.....
Housework and work just gets in the way of the knitting.

not much being done here, i have my youngest DS off school with a bad tummy upset hes really not well, poor lad is in the wars he managed to shut his hand in a car door friday night when he got dropped off by friends after hed been to choir practice, we were down casualty all night (got home at 1am) i was convinced it was broken but luckily x-ray showed no breaks its now black and very swollen so hes feeling sorry for himself.
I did sew the 2 sackboys i'd made for my eldest DS and his friend (i now have requests for 2 more) they look really cute. Thank you to the person who very kindly posted the link:T . Also sewed youngest DS blanket squares together, its now blanket sized but i still want to edge it with another row of smaller squares. (when time permits)
