morning all - i am back.

kathy - when you do your updates tomorrow, could you please add 6 more aaron squares for me? - doesn't sound like much, but those nasty people at the airport would not let me knit whilst waiting for the plane - dont understand how they think that plastic knitting needles could be considered dangerous!

anyhow, time to get up and do some real work (for an hour or two).

    have a lovely day all.

D Pixie - 6 Aaron squares is more than I managed to do yesterday, and please don't worry about how much you do. There's no pressure to do loads - every single item is worthwhile. It's crazy that you couldn't knit with plastic needles, isn't it? The world truly has gone mad!

Maytaurus - was that Creme Egg your breakfast?

i think what it is really is that weve become so obsessed with knitting we aren't actually doing anything else around the house and just concentrating on this because we all enjoy it so much:rotfl: .

  • You probably all know this already but I thought I'd mention that I've recently read a magazine article about the healing powers of knitting. There is even a physiotherapist who is hoping to get knitting available on the NHS. Here's a link for more information and where you can tell your own knit yourself better story: www.stitchlinks.com

Zippitty - what a lovely site! I've copied the ebook of 15,000 useful phrases - I just love words and the ebook is great! I find knitting very soothing and good for the soul, and think it should be available on the NHS, as long as the use of needles (see DPixie's post above) doesn't fall foul of the ludicrous 'elf n safety' here!

Linedancerann - if I can last an hour on the sofa without dozing off, it's a miracle! I spend most of the day looking forward to sitting down with my knitting and sometimes don't even get one row done before I've conked out!

S-Michaels - with just a bit of practice, you'll soon have flying needles, I promise. Every stitch you knit now is one step closer to perfection and you sound very determined! My DH is amazed that I can knit without looking at what I'm doing, but that really does come with practice. I also find I am a lot quicker and smoother on wooden needles than metal ones.

Well, I've posted my pocket angel to my Mum. I've taken a photo which I'll put on to the Yahoo site at some point. I made it in white with gold-edged wings and a gold halo, which is slightly lopsided because that reflects my Mum's wicked sense of humour! I shall make some more because they are quick and use up little scraps of wool. Thanks, Maytaurus, for the great pattern. Tonight I want to make a start on a cardigan for my forthcoming grandchild. I'm already doing a blanket but fancy starting something else as well.
