The Bellagio FountainsI think you have to be very careful whilst in hotel rooms or rental cars I had a nasty incident in the 90s when I rented a car in Vegas and the OH was driving and asked for some info on the car so I rummaged in the glove box for the manual and nearly stabbed myself with a used hypo!!0

Sorry to hear that Panda, sounds terrible!!!
I am confused though, are you saying the baby was sick because it also found a tablet and ate it?!?!?
Is the baby and the son who found the tablet one and the same, or two separate kids??!?0 -

Hopefully the baby will be ok tomorrow, but they could have caused him to be very ill. We have no proof that it was caused by the hotels negligence but I am fuming. What are your opinions? Am I over-reacting?
Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent!!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

But make sure you confirm no one way fees and have them document that on your voucher. They do say that if there is a one-way fee they will advise you of this with a few days of your booking. I booked with them and when I asked, they first said that it included the one-way fee, then someone else replied and said that the rate I was quoted wasn't with no one-way fee, that the one-way fee was $300 with that rental company...but for £12 more they could change it to another company with no one-way fee...£12 was totally worth it but rather feel if I hadn't asked I would have been in for a nasty surprise of a $300 one-way fee.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
The StratosphereThanks ferf1223, I have just found out it was net-flights who i searched with and thrifty has no one way fee between NV,AZ and CA ........ and there the cheapest also. Phew.
Panic Over......... Just need to plan our route and book hotels now.
Any recommendations for places to visit in CA would be great.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsA little tablet like that could easily be missed while cleaning, it could have been on the floor behind a bin or something.
I do agree with this...little people have a completely different perspective from big people too so something that a big person might not be able to see might be a beacon for a little one. I don't have kids, but boy can the cats drag things out all the time that I would never have known were there.
I can't imagine how scary the situation is for you and your family though, and can understand why you're so upset, but I would not count on the hotel doing too much in the situation...if only out of fear of others hearing about it and staging something similar to what actually happened with you.
Would be interesting to find out what happened with this lawsuit from a few years ago, not the same thing but along similar lines:

Hertz don't have one way charges between LV and LA either.0 -
ok, so everyone 'America-bound' should already be signed up to the TravelZoo weekly email, but just in case you're not, there's a "40% off MGM" deal here:
http://hotels.travelzoo.com/las-vegas-hotels/522814?utm_source=top20_us&utm_medium=email_top20
I was going to post the dates, but the travelzoo website contradicts the reservations site it sends you too so not sure if the link they have is the right one - still decent prices though regardless (and it may get updated at some point so keep your eyes pealed - i assume they will either correct the info or give out another link!)
At present, travelzoo state bookings till May, to be booked by end of Jan, but the site you go through to says September to be booked by mid-Feb
edit: if you're not signed up, do so here - in fairness most of the deals do end up getting posted around the internet one way or the other but this way you can cut to the chase

All, firstly let me apologise for asking something I know will have been discussed before. I'm also certain that an element of the answer will be personal preference in regard to what you are looking for but I'm gonna ask anyway!
I've booked 18th-23rd Apr at Mandalay Bay, the 550DR room for a total of $700 ish. Using the travelzoo offer above I can get a number of different options at MGM which are less than or comparible to that cost;
Grand Tower Room $600
West Wing King $700
Bungalow Queen $720
I'm not really fussed on all of the other considerations given to which hotel other than to say that the GF is excited about the Beach at MB.
That aside I'm really after some insider knowledge (personal opinion) on whether any/all of these MGM options are better than the MB booking.
