Hiring a car is all very well if the drivers don't want to drink-a tourist pulled for drink driving is guarnteed a trip to jail so for a lad's trip a combination of Deuce and Taxis is probably worth considering. The Riviera has it's own Deuce stop right outside.

  • ferf, trets, sew, many thanks for your replies! :D :T

trets - The unofficial guide to Vegas? Is that a book or online site?

    Whats this chicken raunch?!

Also, Poker. I take it there are places that do buy in tournaments not just cash poker stuff? Where can we find these? I'd quite like a 6 hour marathon someday but would like a decent sized field at a reasonable buy-in. Any ideas? Some of the guys want to do cash poker too.

Is it mainly texas holdem or is there some stud?

    cheers again :)

When you sign up for your players cards at the Riv-ask them for the free breakfast or lunch voucher (need to show a boarding card to prove you're from out of town) you're bound to want to eat at least one meal there so may as well have it for free-especially as you've pre-paid your rooms so won't be able to get your room rates comped.

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to say that my favourite band, The Killers, will be playing The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel on Friday 17th April. For those of you who don't know Vegas is their home town.

Anyone lucky enough to be in Vegas at the time may want to check it out as it will be a great show. Presale tickets so on sale through www.ticketmaster.com site tomorrow at 10:00PST although I'm not sure if there are any restrictions on the presale.

The public sale is Sat 24th at 12:00PST.

Personally I'm gutted as I'm in Vegas in March but I'm lucky enough to have tickets to see them in Glasgow 5 days before I go to Vegas.

    7 weeks until Vegas :T
    gutted!!! I leave just before!!!!
  • We checked into Trump today (tomorrow, now) and when we went to my brothers suite his son ran into the bedroom first and when we followed he had an unidentified tablet in his hand. We took it off him and my brother rang the front desk to complain, as we found other items under the furniture and was told the manager would call us back. Half an hour later we had to go to Walmart for supplies and the baby was sick there, nothing too serious but enough for us to leave the shopping and take him back.

A few minutes later he was violently violently ill, so bad that we were terrified and rushed back to the hotel and asked for a doctor. My brother and his wife were distraught as he had only ever been sick once before, when he was a newborn. He was very quiet and listless in the car. He is 17 months old.

The front desk sent up paramedics from the place next door and they identified the tablet as Ibuprofen and said to call them if he was sick again. Which he was, violently again. They came back and said he still seemed fine and said if he was ill again they would take him to hospital. He was a little bit sick, but nothing much. The duty manager also asked us to write a statement but did not say what would happen next.

What has got me fuming is that no-one from Trump has apologised for potentially causing this illness and we were offered no help, apart from calling the paramedics. Hopefully the baby will be ok tomorrow, but they could have caused him to be very ill. We have no proof that it was caused by the hotels negligence but I am fuming. What are your opinions? Am I over-reacting?

Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent!!!

OMG I would be fuming to....I would say that's gross negligence on the hotels part....I mean they must have some sort of cleaning standards in place......I would definately take this further
Hope the little one is ok now

    PandaPants,

Definitely not over reacting, i'm not a parent myself but I can imagine the anger and worry you must all feel. DO NOT talk yourself into thinking you are over reacting, keep on at them, they must have someone who can take responsibilty for this. What kind of hotel has cleaning staff that cannot spot a tablet lying around in a room??

    Hope everything works out okay.

sorry for such a crappy start to your holiday, Panda.

I don't think you're overreacting - sounds like a pretty scary situation...it may be that no one from the hotel is apologising in case doing so would confirm some sort of liability (I have no idea if there is any or not in this sort of situation)...but in the US they probably have to be pretty careful about that sort of thing I think...doesn't make things better from your perspective, of course.

Hope the little one is all better today and you can carry on with an enjoyable holiday.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

What a horrible experience and no, you are not over reacting. Next time you go to the front desk or contact them, tell then you don't want paramedics this time, but that you want the telephone number of a good lawyer. That should shake them up. The least you should get is your stay comped.
