    The Volcano @ Mirage

Sew - how could possibly miss the fountains on your last trip?! That is top of my list... :D

First couple of days it was snowing and then we were saying we will go before we leave then last night we went to see the Mirage Volcano and then the Fountains there were technical probs with the Volcano and we waited 45 minutes for it, I did not have a coat and was getting very cold and had to be somewhere later that night so we just well missed it ;)
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

I've stayed in Paris, and honestly wasn't blown away. It was ok, but we'd pick Bally's over Paris (although not everyone would). The room we had at Pairs was tiny (after a tip to get a slightly better room). It was nothing special and I wouldn't rush back.

That's really good info for me as we're Bally's fans who keep thinking we should try Paris as it's generally regarded as being a nicer property (we spend plenty of time in the casino and restaurants already)...but have so far been afraid to in case we find the room to be small after what we're used to at Bally's and then spend the whole time wishing we'd just stuck with our home away from home. :)

Can you buy a ticket on board or do you have to get it before you get on....also does it go down as far as the South fashion outlet and if so where would you get on it....is it the stop outside the M+M factory

Have not eaten at either of these, but I had a fantastic New York Strip Steak at Casa di Amore. It's a few miles off the strip but they offer a free Limo pickup and drop-off. Think we paid about $100 for two people, including a tip.

It's rated no.3 on Tripadvisor, have a look here:

I've heard good things about this place too...and they are on restaurant.com so you can get a $25 voucher (off 2 dinners totalling $35 or more) for $10 normally...$5 on 50% days and as little as $2 on 80% off specials...it is one that they automatically add an 18% tip which puts some people off though.

OH got the bill on this one, but I think it was $350 pre tip. I should add that it was absolutely worth every penny. The food and service was fantastic. If you can afford it, do it! ;)
This is the one that always gets me. Now I am a big steak lover, and can tell good from bad (had to send my T-bone back at CC because there was too much fat on the cut), but there is no way on gods earth I would pay that much for a meal. It is only a bit of scran at the end of the day. so the service is nice, they are only working their tips, and the higher up the snob value the place is, the more you feel intimidated to tip more, so a $300 bill will set you back another $60 on top. The best meal we have ever had in Vegas was at Mon Ami Gabi and that was Fillet Mignon and chicken, the Fillet was the best I have ever had ($35) and a bottle of Merlot, that came to just over $120 for the 2 of us, and we had the best view of the fountains. I hear time after time of people paying these sorts of prices and wonder why. We eat at fantastic places, CC steakhouse, Spago, trevi, P.F. Changs, In&out burger and never spend more than about $100 (in&out comes in at considerably less)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Here is a link to the RTC website. The Deuce route is about 2/3 the way down the list. When you click it will open a PDF of the route with the stops and timings.

The Deuce does go to the South outlets. I'm not certain about the stops though. They will be on the opposite side to M+M world if you're heading south. You can get the 24 hour tickets and standard tickets on board the bus, but you must have the correct money as they don't give change.

We're with you, though I do know a lot of people who like going out for very nice, expensive meals as it's just something that has value to them...especially for a special occasion like mooky's marriage proposal...personally, posh restaurants make me itch so it wouldn't have value for me no matter how great the food is. :)

I suppose it's the same as those who cannot understand why we spend so much time (and money) playing the slots...but it's something that has value to us - usually just entertainment value, but sometimes actual monetary value...we'd much rather have $350 for the slots and eat for $10 at Ellis Island BBQ than spend $10 on the slots and $350 for a meal...but others think that's just a wacky idea...so to each their own and all.

It is a great site, and you can get an idea how insanely big the Grand Lux menu is by looking under Venetian...it's also on Grand Lux's website...it's crazy - why I usually know beforehand what I want or it will take me AGES to decide and anyone with me will starve to death in the meantime.

They also have the Peppermill Menu (and photos) under American...though they don't tell you that the portions are massive, even by American standards. :)
