Haha ferf, That's why I specifically left out the food and gambling parts.

They are the parts that are very different depending on what you enjoy.

Flights can be much more, but ours were about average reading other people's posts here, rooms are again subjective, but we stayed in a fine range of properties, so again that's not bad. Car hire is very similar for many people (unless you hire a fancy piece of kit) And shows, that's why I said how many we went to.

If anyone wants a more precise breakdown, I will PM it to them, but I think that everyone has their own way of doing Vegas, so it probably wouldn't help much.

wow, spent ages reading this and am glad I did! Such fantastic info!!! Thanks!

    My questions.........

When you see a table minimum of say $10-is that even $10 for a roulette chip? They were 50p when I last went lol!!!

Can you do Vegas for $500 a day? To eat, drink, shop a little and to have a little flutter????

How much a day?? Like pebbles said, we can do a week for that , well we could if the wife didnt buy so many shoes and handbags

    Staying at PH

    Loving the thread.

mookybargirl loved the TR you did, but just one question about it you said that you would be homeless if you ate in prime all the time (oh that rhymes),
but you did not say how much it was and I am looking for a good steak while I am there, could you let us know how much it was for the two of you please?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

I've not eaten at Prime myself but can certainly reccomend Craftsteak at the MGM Grand, three course tasting meal for two with drinks was about $360.00. Really expensive (well for me anyway!!) but the steak was to die for!!

    PS. Thanks TangoBunny:beer:

Was not really aware, so thanks for the heads-up. Will make sure we sort out our restaurant reservations in advance. Glad we got it sorted now, just in case the hotel prices go crazy. Also managed to bag some OK seats on the flights, 2 seats on our own, so no disturbing anyone else.

    Thanks again !

Love getting pairs of seats on their own - makes the journey so much nicer.

I was thinking about the great deal you got on the hotel rooms - does anyone know what happens if Expedia says 'oops, sorry, can't honour that'? I don't know if they could do that or not - or if they have to make sure you get the room you booked or an equivalent?

I think I'm perhaps overly paranoid, but if it were me, given that you're going over a major convention and so occupancy rates will be high, I would probably book a cancellable back-up hotel I am happy with...just in case that Expedia trys anything on.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I am sure that the small print says room assigned at check in, but as far as the class of room goes I am not sure as Expedia takes your full payment at time of booking surely this contractually obliges them to give you that room or equivilant.

I would think so too, but I would swear I've read before (maybe here, maybe Open Vegas) that someone was contacted by Expedia to say that they couldn't honour the room that was booked and offered a different hotel...from memory, the alternate hotel wasn't the same quality and while I think that Expedia offered a partial refund as compensation for the change it left someone staying in a hotel they weren't keen on.

If memory serves correct the MGM was overbooked and they were putting people into Alexis park for the first night and they were priortising this with people who had not booked directly with them and to be fair this is beyond the control of Expedia et al.

I will use Expedia if I have no choice or somtimes Exedia has rooms that are not available direct we got a room at the Golden Nugget Xmas day 2007 through them when there was supposedly no availability

    Hi guys,

Just about to book a few nights in Ballys and wanted to check what the cancellation policy is if I book direct with the hotel on their "72 hour special" offer....

    The policy says

"***Subject to availability and rates may vary. Not valid for groups or conventions. Offer is non-transferable and may not be combined with any other Harrah's Entertainment offer or event. Offer must be cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival. Management reserves all rights. Full deposit required. 2NT min/2NT max. Guest must sign up for Total Rewards card to redeem offer/inclusions"

So is that a 100% refund if I cancel at least 72 hours before?
