And the new hotels, eg Venetian, once your in the "hotel" part of the property, you cant smell any smoke IMHO. Certainly not in the corridors or the rooms.

Plus I dont think Signature has a casino.......the time difference really messus up my body clock, so I usually go to sleep around 9pm end up playing BJ at 3am on the first night......dont think Id want to wander out of my hotel to find a table though.

doesnt have a casino, but has enclosed corridors with moving walkways to the main MGM, so you dont have to walk outside.

also handy for the monorail, only takes about 5 minutes from your room to the monorail entrance

    Interesting, thanks for the info.

I hear that the MGM Signature is a good place to stay, any thoughts on that?

I nearly missed this as it was an edit after I'd read the post.

We stayed at the Signature in May. It's a really nice property with nice, quiet pool areas and the suites are lovely.

However........ I did find the trek to the strip became tiresome after a couple of days. I timed it and it took 5-10 mins to get to the back of the MGM and another 15 mins to walk to the front. Going the other way onto Harmon, it took 10 mins to walk to the back door of the Miracle Mile and 15 mins if you walked to the strip.

I have no problem walking in Vegas and accept that I am going to get sore feet, but that extra walk before I started walking anywhere else was a bit wearing.

We have booked the Carriage House for September which is on the same road as the Signature, but it only took 10 mins from there to the strip and I think that 5 mins will make all the difference, for me anyway.

Oh yeah I forget the most important part for some people am such a numpty ;)!! Yes the hotel doesnt have a casino, I liked to play on the machines but am not much of a gambler so I kinda like the fact that it doesnt have a casino as its like a bit of an escape (not that am trying to escape but am sure you know what I mean) just a chilled out atmosphere bit like calm in the middle of this amazing buzzing place! Cant say about the smoke in other hotels as I havent stopped in them but I would imagine that you cant smell any smells I just liked the fact that I knew there wasnt going to be any not smoke anyway! :)

    Any other hotels to recommend?

I'm favouring Planet Hollywood at the moment, think MGM Signature is too expensive for me.

Depends what your requirements are. eg

    - $$$ budget
    - suite or room
    - quality of restaurants onsite
    - pool
    - shops
    - poker room/tourneys
    - shows on site
    - stuff in nearby walking distance

Signature is a great hotel from what I hear......bit daaaarn sarf location wise and a bit set back from the strip.

Tell us what your budget is and which of the above things are important to you and what else is important....Im sure the gang will come up wth some excellent suggestions.

Was looking at about £1500 to £1700 inc flights.

Per person? Or for two? And at what time of year? Price up your flights using Netflights and how much do you have left for accommodation?

Is that for one or two people and is it for 2 weeks? When are you thinking of going?

I have found PH to be very expensive compared to what I used to get it for.

Sorry I can't work out what your budget is from a total figure. Have you priced what the flights will be? Let us know that and how much is left for hotels.
