DaveyGee, I have been thinking the same about moving hotels.
We have the MGM booked. Grand tower offer that included free buffet every day. Thing is we are there 5 nights and we have a load of places we want to eat so we probably won't want the buffet every day.
The wynn offer looks great. As we are paying $119 for fri/sat night im thinking we might be better paying $199 for wynn then go to MGM for remainder of the holiday. Just not sure about the hassle of moving hotel tho.
Does anyone know if MGM would let us ammend our registration? -Ta:o0 -
The Bellagio FountainsHi can anyone advise me on using mobile internet while in vegas? I phoned my service provider here (o2) and they said the cost for using the internet on my phone was £6 per megabite!!!!
If I buy an American sim card would surfing the net on my phone be cheaper? Could I also use the sim card in my laptops mobile broardband dongle?
I have a nokia N95 will i have to change the settings in my phone? Lots of questions, sorry, but has anyone else tried this?
Thanks0 -
The Bellagio FountainsWhat about time between check outs and ins? Check outs at 11pm, check ins at 3pm thats 4 hours of spare time, you think we could check in early?
pretty easy to move if you have a car . have done mid strip to south strip .no problem .
like Ferf says don't fret about your cases and a early check in . just leave your cases with the Bellhops and then check in later . we have done this .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

The Bellagio FountainsYou haven't seen how much shopping he'd have to cart from one hotel to another !!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

As previous posters have said, you may get lucky and be able to check in early, we certainly have been in the past.
If not, its the bell-hop.0 -

Will you be taking your laptop? If so, you could use the free WiFi hotspots, or use the wired or wireless connection in your hotel room (for a fee)...if you want to use your phone specifically, then I agree with Trets that another thread might be a better bet - we've discussed calls from the US to the UK loads of times, but not sure if anyone here's ever used their phone for internet browsing (perhaps we could have an expert in our midst though).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Yeah ive had a look at that particular deal, is it open to everyone?
Think Im definitely going to move, shouldnt be too much hassle i dont think and will also let me splash out on a quality hotel without having to pay the weekend prices.
As for letting you amend your booking Im not sure, you could probably cancel it then book it again with your prefered nights, maybe sent them an email or something?0 -
The Fremont street experienceAbout amending bookings at the MGM: last year as suggested here several times, i called them because I had booked at a higher rate and then saw a lower rate for the room and instead of cancelling and rebooking I just followed the advice and called them. They were pretty cool about it. If I were you I'd give them a call if your rate is cancellable. Who knows, if you explain you are moving to a better value for money hotel if they will reduce your weekend rate? I haven't read this before, but it might be worth a shot!
Mark1001, as for the Wynn offer that I forwarded to you, it is more expensive on weekends, so how much better off are you? Another thing: we stayed 5/4 (not sure) nights as well last year and stayed at the MGM the whole time. I had considered changing hotel as well to maximize my Vegas experience, but then OH insisted it wasn't worth the hassle (given the great rate I got, $69 I think - remember this was before the crisis) and the limited number of days. We were busy everyday! and I would have hated to waste time moving hotels. We were upgraded to a celebrity spa because we insisted on a non smoking room:o Here is my trip report.
However if I do go back, and I will!!, I will stay longer and I will switch to maximize the experience and the offers. I would definitely stay 1 night at the Wynn with the 75 credit, and 1 night at the palazzo with the 150 credit. :T0
