No!!!!!! I know, I know, we are doing just that this trip, but as a rule it's against our policy, but others like it.

Why do you rule against it?

You haven't seen how much shopping he'd have to cart from one hotel to another !! ;)

Seriously the pros are two different experiences-especially if you do say one mid-strip and one south-the cons are the faff of having to pack up and move and if you like the first hotel better than the second it can take the shine off a bit.

    Hi,

Been reading through this forum for a while now. Going to Vegas for a week in September, I'm considering doing 4 nights at 1 hotel then 3 nights at another, maybe stay in a slightly cheaper hotel over the weekend then stay 4/5 star during the week, anyone done this or similar and is it worth the hassle of changing hotels?

    Thanks

We always split our trips over at least 2 hotels, for us it adds to the experience and its always exiting to move to somewhere new. IMO changing hotels isn't much of a hassle at all but other peeps see it differently. Luci just did a great trip report where she moved hotels four times, have a read and see what you make of it:D

We're in the same camp as you...I personally like staying in one place as I feel I can settle into it and enjoy the holiday...having to pack up and move would mean I wouldn't really settle in until we were in the 2nd hotel (regardless how quick and painless the move may be, it's the principle of having to pack and move that would get to me). The closest we do is staying one night away from 'home' but not checking out of our home hotel...that works out OK for us and we get to try somewhere new.

But I know that others think switching makes it almost like 2 separate holidays.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We have moved hotels mid trip in Vegas.

A lot depends on the deals etc, its not too much hassle really.

Thanks for that! Think I'm going to go with the 2 hotel option :)

What about time between check outs and ins? Check outs at 11pm, check ins at 3pm thats 4 hours of spare time, you think we could check in early?

It depends on whether a room is ready or not - you can certainly try, and if it's not ready, you can leave your bags with the bell desk and come back later.
