I have printed off so many great tips and ideas from this thread but if my file gets any bigger I am going to have to pay for excess luggage to take it with me. Cheers
I was the same, but reduced it all on the photocopier at work so got two pages onto one IYSWIM, halved the amount of paper to take with me.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

The Bellagio FountainsOne problem with laptops is the different configuration of the keypad, the one I bought doesn't have a £ sign for example!! Just a little heads up for you.
Stew
You can change it to a UK keyboard - it's somewhere in Control Panel as I had to do it when I moved to the UK...the keyboard still won't have the £ sign but on it (unless you use Tipex or something) but it will at least type it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

be sure to ask about freebies though...sometimes those who sign up online aren't eligible for the freebies they give out to those signing up in person but you can at least ask.
You can join MGM online as well, but personally I would wait and pick the casino offering the best freebies (some of the MGM properties offer $10 free slot play for signing up and others don't).

The info here is always more current than a guide book.
I agree that the guidebooks aren't great - we bought 2 for the in-laws last year but read them first...Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas was the better of the two (Brit's Guide was the other)...but in both cases there was completely outdated info - like so outdated as to not be down to a change since publication...the monorail between Bellagio and MC was mentioned in both and that's been down for years. And there was some other stuff that was just wrong - hours at Mon Ami Gabi were way off, and some of the info on slots was just urban legend garbage, etc.
I do think holding a book and reading it can be nice though - so long as the reader actually checks the info before making any plans.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi. This is the first time I have posted on this thread.
I am going to the Luxor from the 15th to 22nd May for my son's wedding which is taking place there on the 20th.
The trip has been booked since August but due to setting up a new business I am only just getting organised for the trip.
However yesterday & today I have been looking at reviews on Expedia etc & the Luxor is getting really bad reviews with regards to cleanliness of rooms, bedding, surly staff etc.
Should I be worried?
I wouldn't think twice of complaining but I don't want my son & future daughter in law's stay & wedding to be spoilt.
Thanks

The Bellagio FountainsNew travelzoo offer this week with the Hilton for $50-$60 with breakfast and incl weekends. Wouldn't be a top choice for me, but though that it might help for anyone looking for a cheap off strip hotel over a weekend.

Nana - I've not stayed at Luxor recently or ever, but some of the other guys will have done and someone will hopefully help out soon. Quite a few from the board are in Las Vegas now (lucky sods:p), so it might take a bit longer to help you out
Edit - jackie - loved your trip report and so glad you didn't get shot! :rotfl:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Hi all
I will be taking the missus to vegas for her birthday at the begining of May.
Would really like to take her on a helicopter flight to the canyon.
Can anyone tell me if it's cheaper to book it while here in the uk or wait till we get to vegas.
Many Thanks0 -
The Bellagio FountainsHello,
Got back from Vegas this afternoon from our 5 night stay (16th-21st April)
Had a lovely time over there and was lucky with the high temperatures for this time of year ( mid 90's!)
The main things we had booked were The Killers, UB40 and the Blue Man Group which were all fantastic! :j
Stayed at the MGM for the first 3 nights then the Wynn for the last two.
Will do a more detailed trip report with the OH in the next few days.0 -
