The Bellagio FountainsGuys anywhere you know where the F1 might be on???
Is it possible to see it in America anywhere??0 -
The Bellagio FountainsAnyone in Las Vegas at the moment will find it busy for the next couple of days as the National Association of Broadcasters has 100,000 people attending its annual convention but things will quieten down by Wednesday.
Facts,baby,facts !
We've been here since Wednesday and know about the convention - it is busier now of course than it was when we arrived, but even Weds and Thurs it didn't seem too dead to us - tables were packed, loads of people playing slots, etc.
I do understand that Vegas is hurting overall - but it isn't the ghost town many had suggested it would be. There are some signs - Wynn's restricted drinks service to standard mixed drinks (no mojitos, no margaritas, etc.)...PH has reduced the hours of it's free slot pull to 4 hours a day...and of course an explosion of reduced room rate offers for the general public...but as far as what we've seen in the casinos at least in terms of number of people, it's been a pretty normal trip for us so far...we've not seen the acres of unused space that was mentioned, certainly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Just went through this with my husband last weekend as he's a big F1 fan...if the race is on during hours the sportsbooks are open you can probably ask them to tune one telly to it unless it's a massive sports day for sports Americans watch (rumour is that Steve Wynn is a big F1 fan and they show the races there but I cannot confirm it)...I've also heard that Crown and Anchor sometimes show F1 (again, can't confirm). As the race last weekend was on at midnight here neither of those were an option and hubby did find a place to watch it online on our laptop.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I take your point.
The huge amount of cheap room rates are bringing people into Vegas but my point is that they're not gambling in significant numbers.
I strolled through MGM a week last Friday night and whilst the slots were okay and there were lots of people milling around to go into the shows the tables were very quiet.
In the high value rooms which would normally be packed I didn't see a single table in action.
On the same evening I counted four people in the Paris sports book.
Either way it doesn't really matter as it makes now a great time to go to Vegas.0 -
