    Good evening all.

    Just went to confirm my tickets on expedia.com.au and noticed something I am hoping you guys can help with....

    I booked with expedia.com.au when the prices were about £200 for a return flight to LV....

    My flight is NWA (opperated by Delta) from LHR to Detroit and then same from Detroit to LV.

    I then fly United LV to LA and then Air France from LA to Paris and then on to LHR...

    I just noticed this on expedia.com.au:

    http://www.expedia.com.au/baggage-fees.aspx

    Is that page seriously suggesting that on my United Airlines and NWA flights, the four of us will all have to pay $15 each per leg of the flight to have a suitcase checked in??!?!

    I.e. is there no luggage allowance included?

    Cheers

    Here is a link to MGM Grand Garden Arena's schedule. There is a UFC on 27th May. Click on Buy tickets to get prices etc.

    If you booked all the flights together, you may not need to pay. Our flights with USAirways (MAN-PHL-LAS don't have a baggage charge because we are doing a transatlantic flight. Check with the airline's own baggage information to see what it says.

    Snap (well... nearly!!). We did a very similar trip when we went last week (via. the cheapo Expedia deal), we did:

    Outgoing:
    NWA (Heathrow -> Detroit)
    NWA (Detroit -> Las Vegas)

    Return:
    US Airways (Las Vegas -> Los Angeles)
    Air France (LA -> Paris)
    Air France (Paris -> Heathrow)

    US Airways CHARGE for domestic, but NOT for international trips. As the return trip was all under 1 ticket, there was no charge for the baggage for the 'domestic' sector of the trip as it was all classed as an international trip... I can only assume United will be the same

    To confirm, there were no charges for ANY part of the journey. (just as pebbles said basically! :rotfl:)

    Incidently, there was absolute chaos at the gate next to ours in LA (Virgin's direct flight to London) and it appeared some people hadn't been assigned seats - they got away on time but you could see people starting to freak out a bit and from what I gather quite a few people didn't get to sit together, even though they believed they should have done.

    Lastly, (not wanting to panic as there's no need), but at LA, Air France had not got an e-ticket for us for the last leg of the journey (the re-arranged Paris -> Heathrow) as apparently expedia hadn't done something properly - not a problem at all as they just did a hand-written ticket for us but just so you know you may get a similar problem (you may have to explain you were originally scheduled a direct return from LA -> Heathrow and that it was changed)! :)

    Nobjocki - i'd agree with that... i managed to sneak onto a quiet BJ table (only @ Excalibur admittedly!) but normally i wouldn't get a look in... still it was a good 'first' BJ-table Vegas experience - but like you say, the place still seemed packed (no conventions on either) - our taxi driver said there'd not been any dip in their business too...

    Funkyfin2000 - our Tomtom takes US zip codes so yours should - why don't you just try? :) you don't have to be in the US to try planning a route in advance... 89109 is a zipcode for the strip :) - if you have any probs, just PM me :)

    Guys,

    Does USA map of TOMTOM take USA Zip codes to locate things???? Like we would postcodes!

    Rich

    US zip codes are far less specific than UK postcodes so a zip code alone will generally only get you to the town or part of the town - it can't be more specific (unless you know the 4-digit add on to the end of it)...I have a Garmin and we select the state, put in the city and the street address and that's been enough to find it - assume it's the same for TomToms.
    Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Thanks guys on the TOMTOM's! Awaiting ours to turn up on Monday -hence why cant try it...

    so zip code only is not going to work, wrote them all down but not going to be toooo useful! Will go by street and state!

    Guys,

    Rich

    No it doesnt, jsut enter the address and it will find it.

    I asked the same thing last week on gpsunderground after i 'updated' my tomtom and was told for US map it doesnt work like the uk post codes. I loaded the US map and entered the hotel we are staying in when we arrive in LA and it found it no problem. Even planning a route from LA to Vegas worked a treat, start destination was LAX, end destination Luxor hotel. Simple as that :cool:
