What is going on with car hire rates!! Have just been looking for our trip later this month and the cheapest I can get is £179 (£172 with Quidco) through netflights for 8 days full size. we normally pay about £130 for 7 days for the same car. Been looking over at Open Vegas and someone else mentioned the same thing. Seems that the car hire places have off loaded loads of the vehicles due to the recession and the prices have gone up across the board with every company.

    Try here:

Just booked one for a week, £113 (only a basic one though !)

Yeah, but a full size is £190. Thanks anyway.
BTW contacted carhire3000 as they say they will beat any price, but they never got back to me:confused:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I sent for the 24/7 Magazine a week ago and it arrived today! There is a coupon in it for half price Jubilee tickets, $35 instead of $70.

yeah just seen that which is great...

24/7 mag is for April not May so may ask for another one in about a weeks time........although most things are valid of course....

TI is OK......wouldnt be on my list for next visit though. Much better though than the downmarket ones like IP, Excalibur, Strat. Presumably youre doing a VH package.....what other options do they have in your price range?

  • Hey everyone,

We're off to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks to get married.

Can anyone please recommend any rock/metal bars/clubs or anywhere playing live music (preferably rock).

I know there is obviously the Hard Rock but any other suggestions would be much appreciated. I've tried googling but am not having much luck.

    Thanks

The Hard Rock doesn't have any live bands playing in any of their bars AFAIK, and they don't have any bars as such playing rock music anyway, just the stuff piped out into the casino.

There is Rok Vegas at NYNY open Weds - Sat.

Mondays @ Tabu in MGM is Rok Box.

I've not been to either of the above but are planning on these in June, there was also some place opposite Caesers ( I was quite drunk so it could have been anywhere) that was a sort of rock bar that was quite cool. Tuesdays at PURE is SIN and its worth checking out if anyone is playing there as when we were out there last year in June The Killers played. They also have covers bands at Margaritaville inside the Flamingo.
