I have just rung MGM to confirm details of my reservations. They have confirmed that it is 2 free buffet passes per day per room as part of the Travelzoo promotion. Can't really argue with $62 dollars per room with some food thrown in. Can't find a better deal. We have 2 rooms booked for 2 adults & 1 child per room 5 nights $610 in August,

I was toying with the new MGM deal, but have decided against it seeing as I'm not that keen on their buffet.

Loads on comments on it yet not one Thanks!

When did you book it gazzer? You must have been quick off the mark as I think that promo only came out yesterday.

But then, didn't MGM have a great promo last year, only to cancel the bookings on that promo and some poor people had cancelled their good rates at other hotels!

I can see both sides of the MGM deal last year the deal was $69 per night any night including weekends the rack for some of these nights was over $300. This offer was not meant to go out to the world but only to a selection of invited slot players who had put a load of money through the MGM slots, it was a sort of half comp. Somone who recieved this "selective" offer put it up on FatWallet and then many other people posted it all over the internet including on this site, I PM'ed the person whoposted it on here asking where he got it and he did not reply. MGM claim that they shut this down very quickly but the offer was up for at least 18 and maybe 24 hours and I think that they should have been able to pull it quicker than that.

In any event I think that they should have honoured the bookings that they took within this time but can see why they did not. Both myself and a friend changed our bookings to take advantage of this, I kept my other booking and when they cancelled switched back my friend had cancelled his and had to spend more to get back the room that he had orignally booked.

I had a look at FatWallet too the promotion this guy is on about is MKT242 the travelzoo promotion is MKT233 so these are different offers the free slot play amount is different too .

Nice one - hadn't even noticed that. Trust the weekend in September I want to go to be the most expensive! Will be checking this daily though. Thanks!

I hope that the rate comes down for you . We booked one night for $62 in June. Remember that the deal expires on 3rd April .

I can also see both sides of the MGM thing...personally, I think they should have some way to ensure that this doesn't happen...require a players club number to be entered or something to 'validate' the offer for the person booking it is entitled to book it. I do think that some targeted offers end up on fatwallet and it's always a bit of a risk if you don't know it's not meant for the general public (I get a bit wary if I can't see it on the hotel's own website, travelzoo, or somewhere similar), but all the hotels know that the deals get posted here and there. I think a lot of people don't know any better, see a great deal and book it without realising that maybe it's not open to them...the hotels could easily stop that happening in the future.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We booked it first thing this morning having seen the offer last night. Even if you don't take their buffet it's still an excellent room rate. We booked our flights (£1700 for 5 of us flying from Gatwick to Las Vegas in August) last week but were holding out for a hotel deal.

MGM Grand $49 a night on certain dates including:-

Daily access to the buffet for two
    $20 FREE slot play
    Two FREE poolside cocktails
Two VIP passes to Studio 54 or Tabu
25% OFF Grand Spa or Christoph Salon

link removed as newbie so cant post links!!!

Debatable whether the buffet is once a day or multiple visits

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster, and vister to Las Vegas.

I have booked this offer tonight, as others have mentioned its a pretty good rate regardless of the buffet part of it.

My question is that when I have booked i have my confirmation from MGM through but it simply shows it as being booked as 'Accommodations: Grand Tower Room(s) - Exclusive Offer!' and is not specific about the perks of the offer ie, the buffet the 25% off etc.

Is this usual? Am i expected to bring all these things up when i book in or do the hotel have all of these details on there system? It would have been nice to have something concrete from the hotel so that if there are any problems when we arrive i have a bit of evidence to back up my arguements.

    Thanks

This was exactly the question I asked as I don't want to arrive in Vegas with 4 'kids' in tow expecting them to be fed at least once a day with the amount I had already paid. I spoke to Patricia at MGM & when I quoted my booking ref she was able to tell me what was included in my booking. 2 meal passes per room per day & all the other things. She also was able to tell me that I had booked the deal through the exclusive Travelzoo offer with my booking code. I will print off offer details though (just-in-case)
