They have recently reorganised the check-ins at LHR T3. Upper has now gone upstairs so you have the run of all the desks on the ground floor. Last time I went from there the VS area was pretty huge, with staff waiting for you as you enter the door to guide you to the most convenient route.

The move of Upper check-in to upstairs is a 2 week trial period, so may move back again yet
  • Guys, i'm checking most websites and the hotels say that you have to be a minimum of 21 to stay there. Me and my friends are only 19 though, are there any hotels which we could go to?

Well after not even considering it until yesterday, I've just booked tickets to see Terry Fator based on the recommendations of Stew and weiser.

I'm always wary of American comedian type acts as their sense of humour may not be mine, but this sounds like the show to see from what I've read here and elsewhere.

Have also made reservations at Kokomo's for dinner after the show as they have a Prix Fixe menu for $29.99.

    Luci,

I was going to mention it in my trip report I was going to do tomorrow. I'd never heard of him before but he had really good reviews on Trip Advisor, he seems really appreciative of his fans, he's the only person i've seen that said stuff the rules, take as many photos as you want. He was a great ventriloquist and making them do impersonations was even better!! Just one hint, don't get a front row seat and put your hand up when he asks if you haven't seen his act before, unless you want to see your other half humiliated!!. I was double lucky, he had a backstage visit from a couple of members of the rock band Starship and they performed a couple of their songs as well.

Any MSE'ers going to be in Vegas for the Hatton fight?

Yep, there from 24 April till 8 May. Not going to the fight though. We have been there several times when a fight's been on including a Hatton one.

The strip should be heaving as it's also Kentucky Derby weekend.

Not to ask a stupid question - but why would a group of 19 year olds want to go to Vegas? You won't be able to even get into bars or clubs (they don't allow entry for those under 21 full stop), you won't be able to gamble or even loiter in the casinos.

Are you going for a wedding or something? Or perhaps stopping on the way as part of a trip somewhere else?

Just wondering really - I cannot think of anywhere more frustrating for slightly under 21s than Vegas.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Excellent Stew, thanks for the info.

They've been going on about him for months on TA and I wasn't reallly interested. He only started in the last few weeks and the reviews have been good, but I really wanted to hear it from a Brit's viewpoint rather than an American's.

One of my concerns was that I wouldn't recognise the people he was impersonating, but from what I've read that won't be a problem.

    Which row/section were you in?

Really looking forward to it now.

If you read his other post it appears they are doing an extensive road trip from Vancouver. I'm wondering how they are going to manage that when they are not old enough to hire a car.

Ah - thanks - didn't think to look at his posts on other threads. That is a good point on the rental car thing though! oops, just saw on the other thread that one of the group has a Canadian license and car. :)
