    Hi everyone

I'm off to LV on 18th April for 5 nights - it's our first visit and I absolutely can't wait!

I'd really like to go and see a magic show - I've heard there are some excellent ones there.

    Can anyone reccomend any?

    Thanks
    Whitters

We saw Steve Wyrick at Planet Hollywood last June, we really both enjoyed it and it is a tiny theartre so you are really close. We got cheap tix on the day at Tix4tonight and we were in the fourth row. The only thing I would say is that it is a bit cheesy at times but if anything it sort of adds to it and is something to laugh at after.

    Have Fun!

re magic shows - there's also Penn and Teller which isn't a traditional magic show, of course...we loved it...some people aren't as keen on it though (usually they don't like how much Penn talks and what Penn talks about) so like most show's it's a relative thing. You can usually get discounted tickets from goldstar.com or travelzoo sometimes have a deal through their shows list. there's also a 25% off coupon on Rio's website for them.

.My tip though would be to go to their cafe called "Sugar & Ice" - take your coffee/tea/icecream/cake etc outside onto the patio area - you are literally sat in front of the waterfalls!! Its gorgeous there - really nice. Granted we usually go in June/July when its scorching and the umberellas and the spray from the waterfalls keeps you cool. Its one of the most relaxing places that I have found in vegas! Definately worth a visit.

I second that. The food is not that expensive in there either. The Brioche French toast is about $9.00 but 2 of you can't finish it.Tracy says they do the best Chai Latte in the world.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Yeah, we didn't like it that much really. I like the stuff they do on telly but in a 1 1/2 hour show they only do 6 tricks. If you are a fan though they come out to the exit when the show is done and let you take pics and sign autographs.
P.S. PM me if you want to know how the box trick at the beginning of the show works. ;)

We enjoyed Copperfield. Cheesy yes.......but I was a few yards away from the guy and I couldnt figure out how he did some of the illusions.

Tip - all ticks are the same list price, so book actual seat early and youll get a great seat at a good price.

Thanks to both on this. I thought Sugar and Ice only did ice cream, gellato, etc...didn't realise they did food too (not that I have an aversion to ice cream - nothing can be further from the truth). We may check this out next month!

Last I saw the only "easy" way was to join the club, spin the (electronic) wheel and have it land on free buffets instead of free slot play...they discontinued the earn 50 points ($3 coin-in per point) and you get 2 free buffets some time ago...now I think it's back to it's usual 500 points and you get 2 free buffets...but they change it quite regularly so may be worth checking.

You're probably thinking of the video roulette option to quickly earn 50 points (for the old promo) with minimal downside...not sure if the same idea would apply for a larger number of points required as there's more of a risk so the potential loss may outweigh the cost of the buffet (or you could win loads)....I'm not very good with numbers so will let someone else figure it out. :)

Here's a thread from Open Vegas about it in case it's helpful.
